While Agrim and Alaria waited in the cell, so no one would notice them missing before necessary, Naur discreetly went to find some rope. It didn't take him more than five minutes before he was back in the cell. As Naur came back, Alaria rose to her feet and gave him a nod. For all she knew, it was better to travel along with one Easterling and a friend, than to stay as captive in an Easterling encampment. Even though she didn't trust Naur, anything could be better than where she was. As they approached the exit of the building, Alaria remembered something else... "Naur," she said, getting his attention, and then continued the short sentence. "Malrid..."

Elwen followed Aerin silently, her body tense. The crow called again, the harsh sound cutting the air like a knife. She glanced at Arandil, who in his impatience was immediately behind Aerin. Scanning the ground ahead of them, she detected a slight depression. It was odd, the ground looked slightly different there, textured, and there were more leaves. Suddenly she understood. It was an old trick, but an effective one. She called out to Aerin and Arandil to stop, as quietly as she could manage.

Silmeriel, following close behind, heard the crow's call once more. She frowned. The pattern was too rhythmic, to syncopated to be a normal crow's call. It had to be a signal.

(OOC- Ooh, Silmeriel, you picked right up on what I was doing! Now I don't have to explain my diabolical plan to you all...*grin* -OOC)
Seeing that the others had not heard her, she turned to Silmeriel behind her. The ranger had evidently noticed as well. Catching her eye, Elwen mouthed words of warning, alerting her to the distraction ahead. The two men were farther ahead now.

Silmeriel nodded silently, tensely alert for whatever was going to happen.

Aérin seemed attentive but the truth was his mind was still swimming with al that had transpired recently. He kept thinking of Alaria and how he would feel to lose her again. He tried to close his mind of it all. Arandil was close behind him, Aérin was sure the same anxieties ran through his mind also.
He was almost too late in noticeing the trap they had walked straight into...
The ground beneath the ranger began to give way, it was a classicly laid trap that a ranger such as Aérin would spot everytime but for his current state of mind. Aérin had just about managed to regain his balance on the very edge of the pit when Arandil in his impatience had barged into the back of his leader. Certain of the fall and in instinct, Aérin twisted and reached out for the first thing he could grab... Arandil. Doing little to help his predicament, Aérin succeeded only in pulling Arandil down the deep pit along with him. The pair fell hard on the rocky bottom.
Elwen and Silmeriel saw everything from a short distance behind. A rush of fear and dread took over Silmeriel, the ranger moved to rush toward the pit only to be restrained by Elwen. The keen ears of the elf had picked up on something in the darkness of the trees. With only seconds to spare, she pulled Silmeriel off into a harsh hiding place to observe what was going to happen...

Crouching in the musty hollow provided by a rotting trunk, the two watched breathlessly as six easterling sentries appeared. One of them peered into the pit. After lengthy communication, four of them began to form a harness out of rope, while the other two stood guard. Within several minutes they were prepared to hoist Aerin out. Their weapons trained on him, they pulled him quickly to the top and set about binding his arms. Elwen nudged Silmeriel, and shifted slowly until she could move her arms easily. Drawing her bowstring back, she prepared to fire the moment Arandil appeared. At that moment, one of the easterlings yelled and kicked Aerin viciously. She let her arrow fly, and immediately regretted it. Now they had no choice but to kill all of them.

The immediate fallout from the arrow shot was not what Elwen had hoped. In a rage from the shot that had struck him on the shoulder, the chief easterling turned and knocked Arandil back into the depths of the trap whilst howling something in the harsh tongue of the east. This was followed by the whining of several arrows from the darkness of all around them. There was many more around the clearing than just the six sentries, indeed this was a well laid trap!
Elwen and Silmeriel had little time to decide before they would undoubtedly be trapped

Silmeriel darted from tree to tree, staying hidden, but firing so rapidly that there appeared to be many more archers than just herself and Elwen.

Elwen stayed hidden as long as possible, firing arrows in desperation. It was not long before she found her location pinpointed, easterlings advancing from all sides. She threw her bow down and drew her sword, hoping to keep them busy until one of the others could reach her. Her attempts were in vain; as she warded off one, another knocked her sword from her hand and grabbed her from behind. She was indeed trapped.

Silmeriel saw Elwen's capture; knew she could do nothing. She stopped shooting, and slithered up a tree. She perched there, silent. No one noticed her, except maybe Elwen.

Aérin groaned at the sharp pain in his side. He rolled over and got up to his knees, his hands still tied. He over toward another figure being ushed out of the woods... Elwen! She had been cuaght also.
There was no sign of Silmeriel...
Arandil regained his senses, he had fallend down the pit along with a easterling, they lay in a crumpled heap upon one another. He found his hand by the dagger of the easterling which he quickly took up. Thrusting his weight upon the enemy he went to slash his throat only to be stopped by the harsh cries of warning from above. Looking up he saw numerous arrow heads pointed in his direction... Knowing no other alternative, he threw down the weapon and gave himself up.

Silmeriel saw Arandil's movement, then surrender. Inside she panicked, on the outside, she showed no emotion.

Naur continued to walk to the back of the building with rope in hand before he replied.
“We have wasted too much time as it is…” He said rather quietly while attempting to throw the rope around a rock at the very top of the cliff.
“They will notice something is amiss before long… What I am trying to say is that we must leave Malrid behind.”
As he said this, the rope caught on something atop the cliff. He gave it a yank to make sure it would support their weight then turned to Alaria.
“I am sure he will be fine.”

Alaria looked at Naur with sparkling eyes of frustration. "But we can't just leave him behind!" she exclaimed, almost too loudly. She lowered her voice a bit, then continued. "You, of all people, know what the Easterlings are capable of doing. We can't just leave him there, waiting for his own death!"
