I do too, but it would of destroyed all the power the ring was building in the movies if the ring did not effect Faramir. But I'm glad they did make him out to be the better man in the end because he did refuse the ring even though it would have given his father more of a reason to "show his quality".

Yeah, I guess they had to build Faramir's chararcter throughout the movie.

I hate how they had to make Faramir look like the bad guy though . . . but they couldn't have done the movie if they hadn't

I wish they hadn't made him tempted by the ring in the movie because in the book he wasn't and that's his true character.

I wish they hadn't either but as a simple mind movie watcher, aka people who haven't read the books, don't know the difference and it would ruin the fact that he wasn't temped by the ring like his brother was

He wasn't meant to be tempted by the ring because he is the opposite of his brother. That's what Tolkien was trying to portray.

In the books Faramir - we find out a lot more about him and he seems a far nicer guy. Plus the bit with him and Eowyn is very sweet. However in the films I'd say Boromir as we can really understand him more in the films. Also I like Sean Bean

I'd say Faramir, never really liked Boromir... Their father had that obsession with the Ring and he passed that to Boromir and Boromir was so desperate to do his father's will so he was willing to anything for it. And that made him a bit annoying, always doing what he's told to...

If Tolkien saw the movies he would freak out, and go basistic, and yell at Peter Jackson, he hates it when people change his work, let alone completely mess it up.

lol. Yeah! It would be crazy. I don't think he would appreciate it. He would probably think, if they can't accept it then to bad, that's the real story, and they aren't changing my characters to spice it up.

he would go beserk, and probably sue PJ or something like that then PJ have a cult of Tolkien purists to deal with

I love them both!! But my heart truly lies with Faramir He's my favorite character in the books besides Eowyn. The two of them make a beautiful couple!! Too bad PJ screwed him up in the movie I'll never get over it
