Is it possible? I think so. There were some things I liked better than the books: 1) Boromir 2)Cahadras 3) Teh beacons 4) How things were in chronological order.....

Nothing was better in the films!!! Oh wait, there was thing that was better in the films and that was The Council of Elrond. Did anyone understand that chapter the first time they read it? I got a few pages into and thought 'stuff this I don't don't understand a d**n word, and skipped it *hangs head in shame*. Maybe, just maybe, when Boromir's fighting the Orcs and he gets shot, maybe that was better in the fim coz you actually got to see him fighting instead of Aragorn coming round the corner and there he is with arrows sticking out of him. But apart from them two the books were much better .

It became far more interesting the 2nd time round. But things that I thought were better in the films were: Arwen being in it more. The first time I read it I'd just about forgotten who she was when she turned up at the end. I'd also agree about Boromir it was far easier to understand and like his character in the films. I can't really think of anything else though.

i always think the books are better, but i like the film for basically what elanor said, arwen's part and boromir was also more understandable (i love the fact that boromir was actually the first man to accept aragorn as king, and that was way in the beginning!), other than that, i think both were great!

I can't actually think of anything I love everything as it is in the books and I sort of take that as the way that it is. Anything that the film has changed is sort of... artistic license for the purpose of the movie and not at all definative.

I like the CoE in the film more because it's simpler, and talks only of thing relelvant to the story, where as in the book it goes on about the downfall of Numenor, which when I read it the first time at least I didn't know what the hell Numenor was. lol

I think that making the Boromir's death in the end of the first movie was a really good idea! I think also that moving Shelob in ROTK was a good idea but the chronological order goes wrong and for example the scene 'Mounth of Sauron' was destroyed (I mean emotional) because you've just seen Frodo and Sam walking in Mordor and then the Mounth of Sauron says that Frodo is dead...

Boromir made a much deeper impact in the movies.
I think Galadriel's interaction with the ring was better, as well.
And the Flooding of Isengard. I mean, it was barely mentioned in the books. :\

To me, nothing was better in the movies. I like them, however, because I'm very visual. Seeing it was nice.

I think the books were much better. They're the original, after all. Still, the thing about the movies is that you get to actually see the story. For people who have a hard time visualizing what they're reading, this is ideal. Sometimes things affect you more if you actually watch them taking place. Words are very powerful, but so are pictures. I like the books better, though.

The books will always be better because they are the original but the movies were also beautiful.
