I also wonder whether or not Stuart would have been able to handle the Elvish as well as Viggo did. Again, good choice PJ...

*shudders*
That pic is the stuff nightmares are made of. Just truly horrific.
As for him as Lestat. Personally no I thought he was abysmal. I'm not a huge fan of Tom Cruise, but he made Lestat come to life so to speak. Then again I don't rate Stuart Townsend as an good actor anyway.
PJ made the right decision when he re-cast Aragorn. Viggo just made the role his own.

[glow=purple,2,300] Stuart Townsend, I didn't agree with him as Lestat either, but he sure used it to prove he has got a hot tight little body under those clothes of his. I agree he wouldn't have been right for Aragorn, but I could see him doing a good job as Legolas... he certainly is pretty enough to be an Elf[/glow]

[glow=purple,2,300] Preachin to the chior! he's very yummie... but Eric Bana is delicious!
Wait a second, when did I revert to a hormonal teenage girl? It must be the OCD or something... [/glow]

I thought Stuart was a really sexy Lestat. He and Aaliyah (RIP) had a good chemistry...

ok, i am sorry, but i wanted my money back after seeing Stuart Townsend play Lestat. As a HUGE fan of Anne Rice for many years it was a huge disappointment. I have read Queen of the Da-m-ned countless times, and that movie was AWFUL, it had nothing to do w/ the book at all. Tom played him to a T. Lestat's hair is blonde in the books, Stuart had brown hair, and thats just one tiny inconsistensy. he looked nothing like he was described in all of Anne Rice's books, and he was far too young to play Aragorn too...i didn't know he argued w/ PJ about his lines! LOL but he was ok in "Leauge", he was good at playing a narcisisstic person.

[glow=purple,2,300] I agree with you guys that Stuart Townsend was NOT my vision of Lestat either... I read the Vampire Chronicals long before the movie was concieved... and he certainly looked NOTHING like the way I saw Lestat in my head. BUT that said, I did enjoy the movie... it was lavish and deliciously decadent... and being a hot blooded girl... Stuart's tight little body distracted me from the fact that the plot of the movie sucked crap through a straw.
Kind of like the HULK... you don't watch that movie for the story... you watch it for Eric Bana running arround mostly naked. No deeper meaning or anything, just visual stimulation.
I think Viggo was PERFECT as Aragorn... he's not the ONLY actor who could have played that part well, but he certainly did play it flawlessly. I don't think Stuart Townsend could have pulled off Aragorn... I think he could have been Legolas, but not Aragorn. [/glow]

I totally agree, that Viggo is/ was perfect for the role! Definetely. Stuart Townsend! MAn, that's him from About Adam! Horrible movie. He was disgusting. Not that that's got anything to do with him playing Aragorn, but ... SOOOOOO glad, it's Viggo. Man, imagine him next to Liv Tyler! How tall is he?!
