Hey i was watchin E! today and they had something on Stuart Townsend, so I paused it and just stared at him, trying to imagine him saying Aragorn's lines, and it wasn't working. I'm so glad they got Viggo!!!

I so totally agree with you. Stuart Townsend is way too young to be Aragorn anyhow. Besides, his voice just seems all wrong to me. I like him as an actor, but not as Aragorn. Maybe a young Aragorn, but not the Aragorn portrayed in the books. Viggo Mortensen couldn't have fit the part better if he'd been made for it! ;D

i spose if they put a lot of make-up on him (like wrinkles and stuff like they did for bilbo) and he spoke in the cool aragorn voice...yeah maybe
...but no one could have replaced viggo!

I honestly don't think he was too young-looking for the role of Aragorn. Stuart Townsend might have pulled off of the aura of rascally mysteriousness that I never quite sensed from Viggo Mortensen. But come on, shouldn't we feel sorry for the fellow? I mean, think of all the nazgirls he missed out on

Would have destroyed the part as Aragorn, and that would have destroyed the film. Glad they chose Viggo! He is from Denmark and I am from Norway, so we are pactically neighbors (It's only about 1000 km to Denmark from where I live, so we live quite close, don't you think? Well, I don't even know if he lives in Denmark at the moment)! ;D

Love Townsend, but I have to agree, Aragorn wasn't the part for him. He's better as Dorian Gray in League of Extraordinary Gentlemen.

I like Stuart too, but Viggo M. was the best choice.

Here's my opinion: Stuart would have had to live up to expectations of what Aragorn is like in the books. Viggo did just that and he added his own style to Aragorn. I am so glad that PJ changed his mind!

Yeah.... I smile every time I see the movies thinking about the fact that he got fired by PJ because he argue'd to much about his lines *lol* ;D I think Viggo was the right one to play Aragorn But I do like "The Leage"
