I was into Harry Potter last year, and it was all I talked about, practically my life. In my 7th grade english class, almost everyone there loved LotR, and I thought it sucked, even though I never read it. Then one day, we had to read The Hobbit in class,....I didn't really like it then, but as we got further into the book, I found myself reading about 50 pages ahead of the teacher! Later that week, he had us watch the prologue of the FotR movie to help us understand how the ring came to Gollum, and why he was so obessed with it. I thought the prologue was pretty cool, so I thought I'd like to check the book out at the school library. I was hooked. halfway through the book, right after the council of Elrond, I begged my mom to rent the movie. That night I persuaded my sister to watch the movie with me, even though she had never heard of LotR before. Now we were both hooked! ;D We rented out The Two Towers movie the next day, and LOVED it. But, to our loss, the RotK movie hadn't come out to rent yet. We had to wait a whole month! So to pass the time, I read the rest of the trilogy in one week. When the Return of the King came out, we made our mom watch it as well, and now SHE'S hooked! ;D

An other reason. When the first movie was just out, my parents wanted to go there. I didn't (Had never heard of Lotr ), but because my parents paid, I went along. ( ) And I loved it sooo much! Then I started reading the books, and since I'm so addicted!! ^_^

LotR has always been such a huge part of my life. Growing up my mom, dad and my older sister read the books all the time and would always tell me magical stories from them and my mom used to read 'the hobbit' as a bedtime story, so it was only a matter of time before I would get hooked as well. I remember my sister had this beautiful picture of the Argonath above her bed which i loved looking at when I was little.

wow... love that Argonath banner of yours! These days I can't imagine how I didn't know and love LOTR and Tolkien's other works when I was younger...

I was searching through a box of photographs in the attic and I found FotR and TTT in the box. I showed Mum and she told me it was Daddys so I showed him and he began to read them to me. (I was eight when I started reading them and I finished when I was 10) I have reread them a couple of times since then.

Well, when I was little I saw the Hobbit cartoon (we had it actually, my mom threw it away becasue she thought it was dumb!), and then when I was about 11 or so my uncle gave us the set of books (the ones with the movies pictures lol) and my dad read us the hobbit but we never really got around to reading the trilogy. Then 3 years ago we were at a friends house and they were like "hey, do you wanna watch Fellowship of the Ring?" and we were like umm sure lol. I didn't know what to expect at all. lol I still remember that day...the day I fell in love with Frodo!
