The thing that drove me to the LOTR was that i found the books in my mum's bookcase and everyone said it was really good.

FotR was on tv last winter. I'd heard of LotR before (who not?) but I thought I was to young for it. But when it's on tv, what could possibly happen? That was the begin of my LotR obsession.

I'd heard a lot about LotR over the years, but never really had an interest. Then my brother reeeeeeally wanted to see the movies. My dad got the boxed set of the EE's for Christmas, so the two of them decided to watch all three movies that winter break. Spur of the moment, I decided to watch too...and I was hooked.

My dad read it to us before we went to bed. It was some time before the movies came out, and he wanted us to have experienced the book first.

My best friend told me LotR was good but I didn't believe her. She kept on brainwashing me for years and finally I gave up. I went to the local video rentals and rented not one but all THREE movies. Needless to say, that LotR marathon resulted in irreparable damage to my psyche. ;D

I read about it in a magizine article and I'd already read a little of the hobbit because my older siblings recommended it to me and and I was only in 4th grade and got freaked out by Gollum (stupid me precioussssss... we could have gotten it sooner.... we could!) So finally I rented it and watched little bits at a time and decided it liked it so I watched the whole thing at once and got completely hooked! Now my older brother says "I had no idea how far it would go after she read the Hobbit..."
