well each system has its pros and cons
Each system has FOTR made by Sierra, and TTT/ROTK made by EA Games
Xbox
Pros:nice graphics, crisper sound Cons:Xbox is bulky and controllers are not for new v-gamers
Gamecube
Pros:graphics are well done, user friendly controller Cons:not much really, its more of a "kids" system than anything
PS2
Pros:Nice graphics, easy to use controller, variety of games Cons:It is a little bit more "flimsy" in a sense that there have been known problems with the PS2
All the games pretty much look the same on each system, its just that each version has different footage of the movies, but we dont need that now since the movie came out ;D
If it were up to me I would say to buy the PS2 or Gamecube, if your looking for a more adult oriented gaming experience X-BOX is the way to go.

Well.. PS2 is definatly the best. And the first video game is horrible, in my opinon. But the third one is the best.

Get a Gamecube. You can connect it to a gameboy and such. And it's not childish. In fact, I would put 75 percent of games for that system as rated T-M.

I would get a PS2, and I think that Return of the King would be the best LotR game to get for that.

Neh. The thing is about PS2, is it it's entirely unportable, last time I checked. Gamecube is really easy to take where you want, and it takes two seconds to hook up. It's simple.

Ok. Thansk for the help. It will just be me playing it. Once in a while when a friend is over we'll play or something. I don't want to bring it anywhere. It will just sit there. I just need a basic one that is easy to use and can play any game. That's all I want......... Ummmmmm.............Could I find a system under $100?

Well, for just gaming i'd say PS2 is best. I don't really know how much you pay in the US, but in Denmark a PS2 is about 1000 kr. which is about 165 dollars, i'd say. I'm not sure. I don't think you'll get it anymore cheaper.

I think that Gamecube is, to some extent, a combination of the other two. It has a nice library of games, and it has good graphics and sound. Hey, for the ppl. out there who know anything about computers and stuff, you can't compare the clock speeds of the CPU and GPU because they aren't the only factor in the graphics and performance. So, there is the possibility and Game Cube is better than Xbox, or PS2 is better than Xbox etc. Although, from reading multi-platform game reviews, I would have to say (forgive me PS2 fans) that Game Cube and Xbox are better... but, there is NO racing game that can compare to the Gran Tourismo Series. (Have I made amends with you PS2 fans???)
