I'm not really the kind of person who cries very much, but the closest I got was at the Grey Havens.

I didn't cry, but I think it was because I read the book before I watch the film and I already knew what happens...

I got teary-eyed in so many of the scenes...even the part where legolas says "how about side by side with a friend?" ...but i never cried. I can't cry in front of other people. My five year old brother cried at the ending! Goes to show how effective it is.

The music and the touching words can move almost anyone.

I cry during The Grey Havens scene.. ,and when Gandalf tells Pippin about the White Shores.. and also when Frodo tells Sam to "go home", especially when seeing Sam's reaction... *sniffles* you just wanna jump through the screen and give him a big hug and tell him that it's gonna be alright!

I cry everytime when I watch the movie (more than 300 times). I first watched the movie on cinema on January 31st 2004, then I bought it on DVD on May 25th, 2004 and I really cry on some scenes everytime!

I can't cry in front of other people. Me too but in the cinema I couldn't I started to cry (really not only tears) when Arwen became a queen because I didn't know the ending then and when Frodo and Sam hugged in the end... And since I got it on DVD I cry always on: Arwen's vision; sometimes when the Rohan soldiers went in Minas Tirith (on the last 'Death!'); when Gandalf explains to Pippin about death ('Death is just another path that we almost take), but that's maybe because of my grandmother who died a little after I watched ROTK; On Theoden's death ('I know your face'); I get teary-eyed on Eomer's tears in the EE; sometimes I cry when Frodo and Sam are in Mount Doom just before the Eagles took them ('I'm glad to be with you, Samwise Gamgee, here at the end of all things'.); I cry when the fellowship is again together and we hear the fellowship theme; I cry (of course) on Aragorn's coronation; and on the Grey Havens when Gandalf says 'Farewell' and when Frodo and Sam got this last embrace... sometimes I get teary-eyed when I see 'The End'...

I never cried during ROTK but I felt like it at many points. Such as Theoden's death and at the scene where Frodo and Sam are on the rock in Mordor on Mt. Doom and Frodo says he can see the Shire again and Sam says that if he were ever to marry someone it would have been Rosie Cotton.

I don't cry but I get very very sad inside. I hate it when the The End comes up. I hate endings.

Same here. Everytime I see "the end" I'm always torn between happy and sad because it's a happy ending but it's the end of the greatest movies of all time.
