I would like to say that I myself am an aspiring movie actress. Please realize that LotR was filmed like 2 months or something after he graduated from Drama school. Acting isn't the career that produces immediate results as in any other job. It's not like "Okay, I've graduated from college with a degree in whatever and now I am perfectly equipped to do this job." Not so with acting. Actors don't start off incredible their first movie/play/whatever. Ever. I know in my first movie I'm not going to be all that great either. The way actors improve is by being in more movies, working with more directors and producers, and working on things more. You people who say that Orlando didn't do a great job in LotR are forgetting this fact, that he had literally just graduated from Drama school (And let's not forget that accident that must have kept him out of school for at least a month. I know he was up and "walking" within twelve days, but ever heard of rehab and physical therapy?). You may not think I'm the best person to talk about this due to the fact that I do find him incredibly hot. I'm sorry, but if any of you people had watched Black Hawk Down, he has an American accent. I know for a fact that an American accent is pretty difficult for a British person (or someone who speaks with a somewhat British accent like a South African or an Australian) to do well. And Orlando's character was supposed to have a bit of a Texan/Southern drawl in there, too. Basically, I find the man incredibly sexy and would never have gotten to be a big LotR fan if it wasn't for that beautiful Elven face, but let's face it. The person who I am impedes me from liking him because "he happens to have a pretty face". If an actor has a pretty face but sucks at acting, to me it's just like "okay, whatever". But Orlando can act. Maybe his true talent didn't shine through in LotR. But watch BHD...and even PotC...and especially Troy. Nobody can watch that last movie and not say that Orlando did an incredible job. Oh, and by the way, (Troy spoiler) when Hector died, I recognized that look. That "blank" look. It's called disbelief. Besides the fact that he was freakin' pansy to begin with, Paris all of a sudden realized his brother would no longer be there to protect him from anybody. He didn't want to believe it. Anyway, that look had nothing to do with acting ability (as in, he didn't have a blank face because he was a horrible actor), it had more to do with (in my opinion) every horrible emotion, sadness, dread, fear, cowardice, etc. all rolled into one. And that does take skill. This is in response to Elanor's own Troy spoiler (and it's Menelaus. ). Okay, I think I'm done now. Thank you for letting me rant and rave. Peace out everyone!

"A red sun rises....blood as been spilled this night." If I may say something else about this quote, might I say that Legolas, being an Elf, can feel and see things before the others can. Whether Aragorn or Gimli heard him or not is not the question. Legolas knew that the some race had been slaughtered (I don't think he can tell the difference with that kind of thing) and felt it before they had even reached the Riders. It may seem "Captain Obvious"-like to those of us who may know, but to everyone else, it was different. Anyway, that's just the way I see it. I could be wrong and feel free to tell me that, but I just thought I'd say something to his defense in this case (But no defense needed for "A diversion". That's just stupidity.).

*rolls eyes.* Well someone here sounds like my brother.I hate meeting people who think they are better then anyone else. You think too much of yourself and stop ruining things for the rest of us!I know someone who needs to lighten up and just learn to enjoy things and leave people alone!!!!!And who cares you have not even started out acting just yet!Okay I am a student irish dancer and my favorite star is Michael Flatley.I really look up to him but I'm not going to go insulting everyone elses tastes just as you did. We're all here to escape from reality not to complain at others look at yourself before you do that.
To start off, sorry to offend anyone, but this question makes me sick. I would like to say that I myself am an aspiring movie actress. Please realize that LotR was filmed like 2 months or something after he graduated from Drama school. Acting isn't the career that produces immediate results as in any other job. Well I'm sorry if I stepped on your toes, but if you wouldn't mind explaining how I insulted everyone else's tastes. I was just saying how people were complaining about his acting ability when he had just graduated from acting school. I just don't see how that could be insulting. If you could explain that to me I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

Well it seemed as though the way you sounded that you were complainging about him as well.Perhaps it would help to think of your reply before you put it down because some people can be a bit offeneded.I like Orlando Bloom as well. But what I do here is try to defend everyone and do my best to help them to feel better. And quite honestly I thought his acting was incredible in lord of the rings. He makes a great Elf.

I so do love Orlando Bloom. His acting's getting better I think. And as far as accents, he's got a few good ones in his repertoire. (Hey, he can do a pretty mean Irish accent.) ;D

I just assumed I was defending him. Again, sorry if it sounded like I have a superiority complex, I edited the part where I think I sound REALLY superior (the first sentence of the first post). Can you all please forgive me? *sniffle* I'm actually a big Orlando fan. I think he's absolutely beautiful and a really good actor, and he's definitely getting better at it.

I think he's a good actor that has a promising future. We'll see what the future has in store for him as the years go by, but I think he's a capable young man with an acting talent that will be honed with exsperiance. I look forward to seeing what he takes on next.
