The answer is yes ;D Though I don't actually see why so many people think he's hot I wouldn't say he's that bad an actor though. If he played more interesting characters it would be easier to tell if he was good or not but he'll probably move onto doing that.

I think he is a very good actor all in all but he did have some terrible lines! the stupidest one ever was "a diversion" captain obvious, seriously! The fact that his lines were not great, it was his 1st movie, and he was a character with not much emotion probobly did not let him extend his full acting potential. (haha big words....... i hope that means wut i am trying to say)

Personally I'm not a big fan of Orlando Bloom's. In Pirates of the Caribbean he seemed really insincere.

I hated most of his lines in the movie! Yes, I also got the must...strangle...orlando...or...legolas feeling. I also got it with Frodo/Elijah. Half the time they spoke I squirmed in my seat. It was very annoying. I dunno, maybe he can act, he just didn't show it that well in LOTR. Pengolwen

I thought he was really bad in Troy thats the first time I thought that his bad acting stood out. Probably because he didn't really need to show emotions so much in LOTR and POTC.
Spoiler for Troy highlight the text to read it
When Hector died I really thought he spoiled the whole scene. The camera flashed to other people's faces and the looked really sad and upset. The it flashed to Paris' face and he just looked completly blank. Though I did think he was quite believeable when he was fighting Menalayis (sp?) end of spoiler

His character was very two-dimensional in the movies... why do you think they didn't make him more like the Legolas in the books?? Then his script wouldn't have been so terrible.

OKaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyy, am now proceeding back to my old complaint. An actor cannot help a bad script. He mostly relies on the director. So if the director can't make up good lines for the character, it's not the actors fault they simply have to make do. And when hector dies, I think the look wasn't THAT blank. It was the sort of look people have when going into shock. They honestly DON'T FEEL ANYTHING!!!! (I know) Besides, Paris' character isn't exactly the most heroic one. So let's stop picking on Orli shall we. Oh yeah, and as for being Captain Obvious. It's not easy to keep that title ya know. Oh, and you guys forgot the most wonderful CO lines. "Orcs!" "Goblins!" (Doncha think we could have guessed?) *yayness!* sry, I do think Orlando is an awesome actor and considering that legolas was his first major role and not an easy one at that, I'll give him a break. And nooooo, I don't like him just because he's hot. I love his personality, reminds me of myself in some strange, scary way. Ok, flame me now, I LOVE ORLANDO!!!! *sits back and waits for people to start yelling* JK

BUT, he did a good job in lotr(I think) that was his first movie and it was the biggest movie of our time so that is gunna give orlando and all the actors and actresses in it movie job frm here on out and I think orlando has done alot and peple should be proud of him and hes done. He has alot and has some pretty good movies under his blet and I think hes done a wonderful job and hes a good actor!(Of corse he is if he wasn't he would be in all these movies! DUH!)

I agree with the fact that it's not the actor's fault he has stupid lines. And if Legolas shows no emotion, it most of the time has a good reason. He looks strange when Gandalf dies etc. but that is because,as an elf, he really has no idea what dying is actually. Orlando isn't my favorite actor, but I think he's done a good job. Sometimes I can watch a movie just because some actor is in it, and I like the way he does the part (like Johny Depp, Sean Connery, Steve Martin (ok, I know, shoot me), Dany Kaye etc.) and Orlando doesn't do that to me. But I still think of him as an rather good actor. BTW: If they would have made Legolas a bit more like he was in the book, his part would be better.

Orlando Bloom
Acting wise, so far, he isn't a that strong of an actor. Though he hasn't done that many movies yet and he doesn't have a wide range of character that I can observe. If I see him in more roles I can see how he does.

he couldn't help his lines. it was PJs fault. I didn't see anything especially terrible about "a diversion" lol But i did think the "There is a fell voice in the air" was dumb but still....hes a good actor. *firm nod*
