I thought the book was great and even better thann LotR in some parts. My favourite stories were The Lay of Leithian which is the tale of Beren and Luthien and the Lay of the Children of Hurin (Turin Tarumbar and Nienor Niniel) because they were both so moving and after i read them i was like....wow. lol. I
I think it's too long to make a film out of all of it but maybe they could just doa movie of Beren and Luthien and I could play Luthien...I wish lol. Or maybe they could do i as a TV series or somink.

It has been said several times a movie of the whooole book would be impossible. But I think they can do the Beren & Luthien like Lady Orohisiel Blackrose said. Or just many movies!! hahaha If they're planing on doing all Harry Potter books in movies, and also the Chronicles of Narnia, I don't see why they couln't do a series of movies of something that has been proven people like. Who wouln't like to know more about Middle-Earth and it's history?

i think it possibly could be a good movie...but i thought the silmarillion was a little long and difficult to get through. if i read it again, maybe i would change my mind. right now, i think a movie would be rather confusing.

I don't wanna see the Silmarillion in a movie by any director.I'm sure Tolkien don't wanna that. The Silmarillion is a book too complex to explain the Ainulindalë (please don't make the valar ) ,the History of the Elves,Fëanor,The Noldor, the History of the Mens,Gondolin, the History of Beren and Luthien etc It'll be too complex for the peoples who doesn't read the book but this is just my opinion

Your right, it probably is too complex to be a movie. LOTR was really complex too, but not nearly as complex as the Silmarillion. That thing is all about explaining this and that. all the timeI think that they could maybe pull out some stories from the book though, like the one about Beren and Luthien, maybe, and make it into a movie. But to try and make one movie about the WHOLE book... I don't really think so.

waaay to complex. Definitely. There are a few stories in there that could POSSIBLY be made into a movie, but I don't want them to. Turin and Nienor, I would be upset if they did that. I enjoy picturing the charactors myself, and it's my favorite story. Beren and Luthien, just wouldn't work. And the Ainulindale, I loved it so much, there's no way they could portray that as a movie. If they tried to cast people as the Valar and Maiar, it would be a total flop. grr.
