None of that was in the books. Neither was Faramir taking Frodo to Osgiliath.

that is true...many things in TTT (the movie) aren't in the books. I think Peter Jackson and the producers wanted to make the movie a bit interesting...

Yes, it does NOT happen in the book, but PJ did it to save time and stuff. You know what they do with movies.

Yes that stuff wasn't in the book and most of it is just added in to speed up things and save time but I never understood why they killed Haldir.

I think they killed Haldir because they needed a death in it. Fellowship has Boromir's death, and RotK has Theoden's (amongst others) but TT doesn't have one, at least not one of an important character. And as they couldn't kill off one of the main characters, they killed off a semi-important character. I am probably completely wrong but that is how I look at it

Maybe but couldn't they just show some random elf dying? So sad to kill off Haldir.

Peter Jackson even said so. I was sure the elves came to help in helms deep, are you guys sure they didn't?

Please watch the TTT EE spacial materials there's more about why are the elves coming in Helm's Deep and about Haldir's death... well... it has to be someone dying... and about Aragorn's 'river' adventure and the warg battle - the film has to be intersting hasn't it??

I guess. But it does confuse some.

Yes, Arien, but not me because I first watched the movie and then after almost a year I read TTT for first time, and I've already watched TTT EE spacial materials, so it wasn't so confusing for me...

I understand that but some people would wonder at the change if they didn't have TTT EE.

by ading or altering something they don't have to have other things to explain it or back it up so they add stuff to get rid of other excesss stuff.
