I think the mods or webmaster should go through and delete all the non-active members there are around here. I don't know why they join but there are people who have zero posts but have been a member for months! It's annoying my perfectionist way.

I agree to the extent that they hogging a name (and it might be a really good one) but aren't using the forum at all. I don't think that they should be deleted... maybe if they were contacted and asked if they were really going to participate in the forum and then...
It kinda annoys me too but, hey, there are worse things in the world. *shrugs*

I think the members should be contaced first. Maybe they lost the password or forgot that they're registered here.....Of course this is not valid for all of them.... But I would not just delete them.... They don't bother me;)

I agree with what Myra said.. First they should be contacted.. maybe they forgot about the forum or something.. (they shouldn't be if they're real LOTR fans ) If they don't respond or don't come back to the forums then I think they should be deleted! It kinda annoys me too but, hey, there are worse things in the world. *shrugs* lol.. your quite right! I'm a member of a forum which has about 936 members with only 7 active members! Scary, isn't it?

This has always bugged me too! They join but have zero posts and have been joined for ages. It's a mysetery to me. What do they join for anyway? Do they not know how to post or something? They really should go and delete them.

You know, if you just think though - someone phones you, and they expect you to answer, but you don't. Thee could be a million reasons why you didn't - maybe you went to the toilet, maybe your battery went dead. So, until that person answers the phone, you're never going to know why they didn't pick up last time, but there are a million possibilities. Now, it the same with joining a site. The could have registered, but acidentally deleted the confermation e-mail. Or the culd have delete their whole e-mail account. Or spelt their e-mail wrong. Or gone to the toilet and their little brother deleted A-U out of their favourites (happened to me once) This made me laugh when thinknig about it, because each of those hundreds of people each have their own special reason why they have no posts, and until we ask,we'll never know. Now, I typed that really fast, and it's probably littered with typos, and my arm hurts. Thats my big beautiful opinion

I'm apart of a fourm which has 151 members but only four or five members are active. I still go there because it's the first fourm I ever joined.

I agree, we *do* seem to have a rather large amount of non-active members...but just think of it this way. What if your computer had a problem, and you weren't able to get on for weeks, or maybe even months. And then you finally got it fixed, and went to post on the forum and someone had deleted your account. See, that's happened to me (computer problems...they can be SO evil!) so I think deleting non-active, or seemingly non-active members might be a little overboard. Herenya's idea that they be contacted seems like a good one to me.

Well how about not deleting all of them? Just the really really really old ones.

I was thinking if we had to delete members, it would have to be the really old ones(I don't mean an age wise ). But they should be contacted first and warned before deleting them.

Do you people realise what you're suggesting? You want us mods to go through all the members, of which there are over 2000. Check for people who haven't posted and see if they've registered before a certain date. And then try and contact them and if they don't reply delete them. That would take an incredible ammount of time for something that's not that important.
