For the fans of David Eddings fantastic writing: This world is set in the world of the Belgariad and the Mallorean by David Eddings. If you have not read the book, here are a few facts about it so you can RP effectively. Races: Rivens: Humans who live in the isle kingdom of Riva. These people are sober faced and serious with all matters. They prefer to dress in grey and have natural skill in swordsmanship.
Chereks: Brutish Humans who live in the northern kingdom of Cherek. These men are civilized, but savage in battle. Could compare them to highlanders. (cept they wear more clothes. the cold you understand)
Drasnians: These are slim sneaky people. Their nation industry is spying. "Good sneaky old Boktor, were almost every other man you meet is a spy"
Algars: The horse people. Though human, these people are famous for their skill in breeding a riding horses. They are nomadic (except for their great fortress) and live by raising and sells sheep on the plains of Algaria.
Arends There are two types of Arends. All Arends are known for their bravery and absolute empty-headedness. A war can start over a bee sting in Arendia.
Mimbrate Arends These Arends are knightly and chivalrous. They speak in archaic tongues (to make them seem smarter) and were great armor.
Asturian Arends These Arends are the best archers in the world. They hate the Mimbrates with a passion and, although under Mimbrate rule, are rebellious all the time.
Ulgos: The chosen of the God UL, these people spend almost their whole life in the gigantic caves beneath Progue. They are pasty white with lavender eyes.
Nyissans The worlds best assassins. They all shave their heads and wear loose robes. Poison is the favorite weapon of the Nyissans.
Tolnedrans The greatest merchants in all the world. They are reknowned for their ability to get this best of almost every deal.
Sendars The most practical men ever met. There is nothing they cannot do with thier hands.
(I'll have map coming soon... if my scanner ever works.)
This is set in the third age of men. Belgarath the Sorcerer has got the orb back and the line of Riven kings is in full swing. There is peace in the west and the Angraks (hostile men who serve the dark god Torak) are biding their time.
(Post on the Character of Omynis in the Character section to join! I will only take about 7 peeps max.)

The snows were deep upon the high passes of Progue this time of year. A thick fall of snow fell from the low, grey clouds above, creating a blanket of white upon the earth. Gradually, under the heavy, yet gentle, bombardment of the white snowflakes, the trees groaned as hoards of light, fluffy flakes took up residence upon their weak limbs. Like feeble old men they groaned and cracked under the great weight. Gradually the clouds receded, leaving a changed land. Where before had lain green grass and tall trees, now there lay a winter wasteland. Not a sound came from between the trees, not a breeze touched fair green grass. The body was fresh and looked as if it had been lain in the middle of the meadow during the snowstorm. It's skin was bleached white by the cold, yet not broken by the light layer of white dust that lay upon it. Grey eyes looked from frozen sockets, eyelashes grown heavy with tiny icicles. It's lips had turned a deep blue. Clearly this person had been dead for a long time. A trained eye would see a large boy of 15 years of age, but to most it was just a corpse. Not that there was anyone around to see it. But if they knew, how and why a boy had come to this barren place, they would not look with disgust. They would not see just a corpse. They would not see an outcast. They would only see a misunderstood child, searching for a place in the world.

Arva had found her clearing once more. Setting down her staff, she went through her warmup routines. Each muscle was stretched and excersized (argh!!! i hate that word, i never spell it right ;D) thoroughly.

Omynis floated in the void. His feet felt numb, as did the rest of his body. Then his feet touched something wet. He looked down and saw water glowing a in dim light. Ahead of him lay a great pit, with the water careening over the edge. "YOU HAVE A CHOICE, YOUNG ONE. I CAN SAVE YOU. BUT TO DO SO WOULD CHANGE YOU FOREVER." A great voice echoed in the dark. Omynis trembled and fell to his knees in the glowing water. His mind raced. " Where am I?" "YOU ARE AT THE GATES. LIFE AND DEATH. I CAN BRING YOU BACK TO THE LIGHT. YOU MUST, HOWEVER, TRUST ME FIRST." Omynis felt a stubbornness rise within him. " Show yourself! Then I will make may choice!" "AGREED. YOU ARE MOST PRUDENT YOUNG ONE!" The figure of an old man appeared out of the darkness. His long, white beard was well kept and he wore a blue robe that reached to his ankles. "Here I am." He laughed. " Is this what you expected?" Omynis frowned. " With a voice like that, I expected someone much... bigger." "Being big does not befit power, young one. There are other kinds of power. Know that I have shown myself. Do you trust me?" Omynis looked into the eyes of the old man and saw infinite wisdom there. A thousand things in his mind clicked. "Yes, great Aldur. I trust you. I would like you to return me." The old man smiled. " Then it is done." Omynis heard a sound like the great rushing of water. His muscles failed him and he fell twitching to the floor. Then he blacked out.

The body in the clearing was now fully covered in snow. It looked serene, peaceful even. A great light appeared above the frozen corpse. A flash lighted the woodlands. When the light dissipated, all traces of blue had disappeared from it. Omynis came back to consciousness suddenly. His breath came haggard as his lungs re-inflated. He panicked, not being able to see the sky. He threw his body forward and crashed from the layer of snow covering him.

Arva heard the disturbance. Slipping a dagger into her palm, she raced silently toward the noise. A boy, frost-covered, stood there, looking panicked. She stepped out slightly. "Who are you?" she asked.

His eyes were frantic. He glanced here and there around the clearing. "So cold..." His voice broke. He shivered, his thin tunic barely protecting him from the bitter cold. " Do you have something warmer?" His voice wavered as his jaw chattered.

Arva wordlessly handed him her cloak. She'd gone in far colder before. "Who are you?" she repeated.

Oberon nodded his head toward her and looked suprisedly at his palm. A silver white orb stood there. The skin felt hot were his skin was bleached. He marveled at it for a time and then turned back to Arva. "Do you know where Vo Astur is?"

"No, Oberon, I do not know." Arva said. "I have only come here recently, as...certain events have driven me to do so."

He nodded. " I was driven out of Vo Astur by a cruel man named Gerech. He framed me for one of theft attempts." He looked down the mountains toward the Arendish plain. " I want to aviod him at all costs. But I also want to get out of this cold." He felt a pulling on his mind. Quizzically, he turned back to were the pass of Progue stood. " I think we should go over those mountains. I feel... attracted to the place on the other side. "The Vale of Aldur is it's name."

A cry escaped her lips as she felt herself collide with the tree. "Little bloody-" she broke off as she doged the axe swinging towards her. she lifted her sword and lunged, only to be shoved away again. a blow to the ribs by the handle knocked her to her knees. the man grabed her by the throat and threw her hunderds of feet away, only to be inbedded in snow. her head hit a rock and the last thing she remembered was blood driping down her cheek and neck.

Arva's ears pricked at a faint cry. "Stay here." she said. "I'll be back." Creeping along cautiously through the trees, she caught sight of a red shimmer on the ground- blood. She frowned, and looked down to find a girl who had obviously been fighting. She descended quietly and began cleaning the wounds and bandaging them.
