Estel let her take the reins. Sorry for just kinda taking over like this. Could you guys run towards Mirkwood? I'll send horses out for you as soon as we get there! With that, Surion took off with a leap. Estel pulled out an arrow, and fitted it into her bow. She drew back, but waited till they where closer to the dragon. If she shot its underside, it would be more effective. Celeb attacked the dragons head, but would quickly dart out of the way before any damage could come to him. Estel finally let her arrow go. It missed by a few inch's. She pulled out another one and quickly strung it. It didn't hit his stomach, and bounced off the scales. But the dragon roared in anger. I just hope he doesn't attack us. She told Niel.

Suddenly the great beast stopped and hovered in mid flight... Estel paused in fear as the dragon seemingly stared straight down at the woman... A moment passed which seemed like an eternity... neither side made a move.
Celeb, sensing danger for her master, saught to attack the great beast once more. Darting for the dragons head, Celeb let out a screech in anger.
The dragon however, was cunning...
Twisting it's mighty body with frightening speed, the dragon lashed out at Celeb with a fierce claw, catching the falcon dead on. The blow caught the diminutive falcon off guard. Disorientated, Celeb flew wildly, straight back into the cluthces of the dragon who this time sheared the falcon with razor sharp talons.
Mortally wounded, it's right wing severly broken the falcon had no-where else to go but down. It's bravery unrewarded as it crashed hard to the ground a good distance from the others. It tried to cry out for help but nothing came from it's small lungs.
The dragon stretched it's wings in glory and victory before letting outa might roar and soaring off into the distance. It's powerful wings cutting through the air, moving it's body at a speed far greater than any land mammal could match.
((Sorry, but I couldn't have the dragon being attacked by a mere falcon. it wouldn't stand a chance))

"Really..." Neal said. "Make haste Surion." She siad gently to the horse. She pushed her heels into the sides of the horse, and he took off deeper and deeper into the forest.

Estel was horrified… simply shocked at what happened. Her beloved bird was dieing. She had a choice. To save her best friend… one whom had been with her since a child… or save the people of Mirkwood. She chose to save the people. Surion’s speed increased greatly, his strides coming in huge bounds. Estel notched another arrow, and pointed it towards the might dragon. While in it’s glory, it was a bit more off guard then it would have been. She shot at its eye. Normally, she had good accuracy. The first couple shots had been bad… but she supposed she was just warming up. Now, she hoped this arrow would find its mark. Amoniel, we’re not going to make it. We need to send some type of note! Estel thought of what she could do. I know! We can use a piece of torn cloth, and write on it… but what with? She pondered over this, and shot another arrow while she did. This one, she aimed towards the jaw/throat. Blood. I’ll prick my finger with the arrow, and write it in blood. Then I’ll attach it to the arrow, and shoot it towards the woods. I’m pretty sure I can make it to where a guard will be. She would let Neal agree to this plan, first. But there wasn’t much time to spare.

We have to try! Estel said desperatly. She slung her bow over her shoulder, and tore a peice off the bottom of her cream colored shirt. Taking an arrow, she pricked her finger. It began to bleed. With the index finger, she wrote as neatly as possible on the cloth. Dragon approaching Mirkwood. Prepare for battle. This was all she could affored to write. She wrapped it around the arrow, and tied it with another peice of cloth. Getting her bow out again, she notched the arrow with the message on it. Pointing it towards the woods, she aimed for a tree where she was almost certain a guard would be. With a deep breath, she let it go. It sung through the air, whistling madly as it hastened towards the woods. Estel held her breath, hoping desperatly the shot would make it to the woods. It was there last chance.

The dragon roared. Surion shied violently. Neal got him back under control and urged him to go faster.

The hobbit was trying to run as fast as she could to catch up with Neal and Estel. They were very fast on the horse. Suddenly, she stopped and saw a wounded bird on the ground. It looked like a falcon. " Oh no! Celeb! ", thought the halfling. She knelt next to the bird, and slowly reached her hands towards it, wondering if the falcon would trust her.

The wounded bird sqeaked pittifly, flapping its one wing. It's large, black eyes where round and full of fear. It settled as the hobbit reached or it. Celeb allowed himself to be gently lifted in her hands. Its mouth was open, and he was panting... a sure sign he was in shock.
The arrow went deep into a tree. A guard of Mirkwood jumped to action, ready for battle. But he saw a note attatched. He read it, but it was hard to devise what it said, for it was a bit smuged. Upon realizing what it was, he ran swiftly to warn the other guards, who carried out a message from one to another. Good job Neal! She praised her, glad she was skilled with the horse. Surion was again going a swift speed, now very close to the border of the woods. But the dragon, too, was close. Estel could only hope that her note had gotten through...

She gently pick up the bird and looked at it's wound. It was really bad, and needed some medical attention fast. The young hobbit lass began to think. " What should I do? Hmmm. I think I remember something I learned from my grandfather about fixing a bird's wing. But how do fix it again? Oh yes! ". She gently put the falcon back down and searched in her pack for some good medical materials. Finally, she found some that might be good. Quickly, the young hobbit began to work on the bird's wing.
After a while she was finally done helping Celeb. " There you go, though you may not be able to fly for some days ", she spoke softly to the falcon.

(ok, back)
Celeb was quiet and patient while she healed him. He relaxed under her touch, and felt safe. Finaly, the bird stood in front of her. He cocked his head sideways to get a better look at the hobbit. His sharp, intelligent eyes searched her face, and then the falcon made a content cooing noise. He hopped over to her, and stood against her, as if she was his protection.

(welcome ) The Elves had quickly formed battle lines, and had their arrows ready. Half of the Elves had poisoned tip arrows, while the other half had fire arrows. Some where in the trees, and began to shoot at the drake as it flew closer still. They also saw the oncoming horse and riders. Let them in!Yelled an officer. The black stallion ran into the woods without hesitation. Under the safety of the woods, Estel relaxed. Guide towards Thranduil's palace. We must warn him, if he has not heard already!Estel told Amoniel. She was anxios to see Thranduil again, as well as get rid of the awful drake.
