Okay people, (sighs) sit back, 'cause this is gonna be LONG.
Now, Frodo Baggins IS the biggest hero ever writen.
He IS.
If Frodo hadn't been brave enough to take the ring to the Prancing Pony like Gandalf asked him too, (and he WAS gonna go by himself! But Gandalf, since he caught Samwise the BRAVE eaves dropping, decided it would be a good idea for Frodo to have a travel buddy.
Who doesn't get a little squashed under immense pressure? Who doesn't cry or wanna cry when they know that they are a totally inexperienced fighter and could be killed any second after they step foot into a battle that they have no choice but to fight in?
Who doesn't get devastated when one of their best friends dies (I know he didn't die, but Frodo THOUGHT he WAS dead, so this counts)?
Who doesn't freak when they have majorly humungo spider after them?
And how many of you would have gone off to the Mordor, the absolute worst place in MIddle earth where the only thing that exists is evil and the very air you breath is a poisonus fume, with a smile on your face and no fear in your heart? And don't even say "ME!" because I so am not even gonna buy that.
Frodo new what it was that he had to do, and he was willing to did it EVEN THOUGH he was gonna have to do it alone, and might even die in process.
If someone who wasn't afraid of anything or anyone had taken the ring to Mordor then (alone or with one buddy at his side) it wouldn't mean that much to anyone because he had nothing to overcome.
Frodo literally carried the weight of the entire world on his shoulders. He was TERRIFIED of the quest, but he new it had to be done so HE WENT and HE DID IT.
He didn't let his fear stop him from doing what he knew he had to do. He got back up everytime he fell didn't he? YES, he DID!!!!! He didn't sit down and go "You know Sam, this is just too much for me. I'm not gonna do it anymore. "
He looked his fears in the face, head on, over and over again, until his queest was finished.
There is only so much a person can do, especially one who is smaller than other people in his world!!!!
So of course he was gonna need help!!!
But just because he needed help doesn't mean that he's some kind of sorry wimp who sat back and let someone else do all his work fo him.
And we all need help sometimes. Sometimes we need alot of it and sometimes we don't. It depends on what we are trying to do, but some people know that we cannot do anything of ourselves, and that we do need divine help.
Frodo carried something around his tiny neck that was the very source of all evil, and he held out for nearly an entire year before he wasn't able to resist its' power any longer.
And then after it was gone he was ecstatic to see it go!
As far as Gollum goes, why on earth do you think that Frodo wanted to trust him so much?
Remeber what he told Sam in The Two Towers? "Because I have to believe he can come back."
Frodo was worried that if there was no hope for Gollum them there was no hope for him either. And Frodo was no hateful individual, he didn't want Gollum to have to continue suffering over that blasted ring either.
Frodo wanted to save him, from the same fate he saw himself possibly having to face.
Frodo is the one who refrained from contention at the council of Elrond. HE was the one to volunteer to take the ring to Mordor, even though he knew what type of place Mordor was, and didn't have any idea how to even get there.
If had not volunteered, there would have been NO quest, and therefor NO victory.
Some extreme nerve you people have calling hima wimp, when I know that you yourselves would have busted every now and then under such extreme pressure as Frodo willing for the rest fo the world placed himself under.
And as far as Elijah Wood goes, he IS a GREAT actor!!
He should've won the best actor awards for his role as Frodo, especially for Return of The King.
He pulled off those tears terrifically. Not many actors can get up on screen and just cry like that. And that face he made in FOTR after Frodo was supposed to think Gandalf was dead, and that it was all his fault-I mean hello people! That was the most brilliant face ever pulled off by an actor!
Actors don't get anymore convincing than that.
And so what if he's not as handsome as some of the other actors, that doesn't make his acting skills any less good then they truly are. But personally I think Elijah is cute and has THE MOST beautiful blue eyes.
I also give TONS and TONS of credit to Sam, because he is also a great hero who doesn't always get enough credit.
And Sean Astin is also a GREAT actor and shoudl've won some best actor awards for his awesomely played role of Samwise The Brave.
What I have just said is all fact (except of course for my opinion on Elijah's cuteness), and you guys all know it too.
