I don't hate Frodo! He's just not one of my favorite characters. I think people just think he's weird because he sorta gets posessed by the Ring a bit. I'm not sure people understand how hard it is for him to carry the burden of this evil ring. And Elijah Wood was great at playing Frodo!

I think it is mostly when Frodo is slowly being taken by the ring. People find it freakish and judge the Frodo character on that one prospect. Personally, I think that Elijah Wood's acting was absolutely brilliant in all of the movies. I sincerely hope that they can get the rights to The Hobbit and make it into a movie. It is a wonderful book...what do you guys think about the Silmarillion becoming a movie??

if the Silmarillion was made a movie many too many people would be confused i know i would you need to see or read it a couple of times. And as for Elijah he was a very good actor in frodo's part think what if he wasn't in that part what if someone ugly came and took that part! *SCARY THOUGHT* we were very very very very very Lucky.....

I dont hate Frodo... but he's not all that great to me. In the book he rocks, but Elijah Wood is kinda...i dunno.... and I don't think he is the greatest actor, hes not terrible but not great.... Pippin, Sam, and Aragorn were better---Thats what I call brilliant acting!

Frodo was incredibly brave and he survived without succumbing to the power of the Ring for a very long time. In the movies, though, they make him overly weak and moody. In FotR he falls without being pushed about 8 times, so that doesn't help his reputation either...
And your obsessing over his looks and thinking that his "heavenliness" is the only reason he is a good actor does not help me like PJ's Frodo more...

They seriously under-estimated Frodo in the movies, but I do really get sick and tired of these "Why does everyone hate Frodo??!!!!!/Elijah?" threads. They get annoying, and old... But I mean, come on.... In Moria, Frodo actually went for the troll foot... I also enjoyed the part in there about him being able to see better in the dark after the encounter on Weathertop... vrry cool. I really do like Frodo. Book and Movie. But PJ did oh so make him very custardy at times... And for one, most of you are judging movie-Frodo and his performance.. He is overly dramatic, etc.. The Ring didn't seem to have as much power as they made it to have in the movie. Is this possibly why some people are a little standoffish? But I mean really, it's everyone's own opinion. I just felt I could enjoy book-Frodo more, and really appreciate, and relate to what happened to him... now I'm rambling... I was going to say something else, but I will refrain...

I don't hate him. I feel sorry for him. I mean, first, he got stabbed in the shoulder with a poison sword that hurt him until he died. Then, a huge wound by a cave troll. And getting stung by Shelob probably didn't feel too good. So u are wrong. Anyone who says he's wimpy, it's not his fault he less than 4 feet tall! And, if u think he's over dramatic, well, his parents died, he falling victim to the ring, and hes on a journey to destroy a ring that harnesses the power of an evil dark lord. How can u not be dramatic!!!!!
