I was wondering today while I was reading the Hobbit what they are going to do about the elves? Because they act so much differently in the Hobbit than they do in LotR, especially in Rivendell. Do you think they might just go against the book and keep them serious or are they going to follow the book and have them happy and jolly?

I hope they stick to the book because I would love to see happy elves.

I think they'll sort of merge the two. Like, they'll look like from LOTR, but they might act slightly differently. And if the settings are still Elvish, it'll work.

I agree Herenya. I'm sure the settings of the Shire and Rivendell will be the same, they have to be. and The elves will be sort of a mix.

I think the elves should be happy because the Hobbit is, in reality, a funny movie, and I would love to see the elves have a laugh. Wouldn't you?

That's true, there weren't very many happy elves in LotR, but then again it was a time of evil. It's hard to imagine the elves from LotR singing this: O! What are you doing, And where are you going? You ponies need shoeing! The river is flowing! O! Tra-la-la-lally! here down in the valley!
O! Where are you going With beards all a-wagging? No knowing, no knowing What brings Mister Baggins And Balin and Dwalin down to the valley in June. ha-ha!
O! Will you be staying, Or will you be flying? You ponies are straying! The daylight is dying! To fly would be folly, To stay would be jolly And listen and hark Till the end of dark to our tune. ha-ha!That's kind of a weird picture to me! From LotR you'd expect them to sing some flowing, soft song in elvish!

PJ will probably try to find a way between... but because of the serious nature of his elves in LOTR I don't think he would want to ruin that image that so many people love- so I think we can count out the drunken elf in Thranduil's wine cellar.
