Can anyone clarify for me if Legolas will actually be in The Hobbit? I read the book a long time ago and I can't remember if Legolas was ever mentioned............I know that he did exist at that time though. If he was around I hope he won't get jypped of a place in the movie.

No, Legolas will most likely not appear in The Hobbit. I read the book. His name isn't mentioned, as far as I remember. He's too recend, and The Hobbit is pretty back in time. Hey, I think your avatar is great!

He could be, it's less than a thousand years and Leggy is pretty old. He could be in it, but I doubt it. It's one of those things that Tolkein just left unsaid. So he could be in it (he is Thranduil's son after all) but he probably won't be in the movie.
