i think that if it would be turned into a movie, like the book as a whole it would be too...haha risky. But if it was just one tale *cough cough* Tale of Beren and Luthien *cough cough* i think it would be good, if it was made by people who truely love the work of Tolkien. It can be done i think, but i dont think it will happen and if it does then i think we will all be suprized on how bad/good it is...hopefully it would be great not just good! -Elenmeleth

I've been reading the Silmarillion book, and would love to see it on screen, specially the part where Fingolfin fights one on one with Morgoth (Melkor).
Peter Jackson did a great job, but I would like it if he didn't change sooo much of the stories.
Like every one says, one or two stories should only be made at a time.
As for a cast, unknown resulted into great success in the LotR movies.

I've had a dream for a long time now and that dream is to play Luthien Tinuviel in a film, TV series or just on stage coz she is my favourite fictional character ever!! (closely followed by Pippin and Eowyn). So if any film directors who are thinking about making anything out of the Silmarillion or the Lay of Leithian, you can contact me on......
Yeah, i wish lol

Absolutely NOT! A movie would totally destroy The Silmarillion, and it's far too complex to ever make a good movie of, so NO!

I voted that it is too risky, however...
I remember how much everyone was freakin out when they found out the LOTR was going to be movies. Everyone had the same feeling as we all do about the sil. But look! The LOTR turned out to be fantastic (not better than the books, of course). I think the sil would be harder to make, but with a brilliant director and amazing cast, who knows? The results could be similar to that of the adaptation of LOTR. Just a thought. I'm probably wrong.

My thoughts exactly ^^^. I said it to my dad the other day (I'm not sure if he was listening though lol.) I said the exact same thing. The only problem would be casting the Elves, and then there's the Valar...can you imagine humans trying to play Luthien and the Valar??!! It would be a shambles. But i'd still go and see many times ;D

I said too risky, too many significant events might be over-looked.

I think just one story would be good. There is no way some one could do the whole book.It would be ruined.

I think they would never make a film of it, for one its way too long. Instead if they made a series of all the stories that would be better.

They should at the very least make the story of Luthien and Beren. Lots of fans would love that
