Has anybody seen the film 'Alien' with Ian Holm in it?
I saw it for the first time this weekend, as I'd always been too frightened to watch it before.
It's really, really good, but I really don't like seeing dear old Bilbo as someone nasty ;D

Alien is one of my all time favourite movies. One of the few movies that made me jump when I first saw it. Just outstanding. An all time classic.
And Ian Holm was totally brilliant. Such a wonderful actor.

It's about a crew aboard a mining ship in space. They intercept an alien signal. One of the crew get's attacked by a strange creature whilst investigating it. It attatches itself to his face. Through this an alien lifeform is set loose amongst the crew and one by one it kills them off. Leaving one sole survivor. It stars Sigourney Weaver, Ian Holm and John Hurt. if you like a good original scare this a good movie to watch. It's creepy, original, paranoid and has a good few jumps in it. As I said before, this is one of my all time favourite movies. I can't say a bad word against it.

i think i heard of it ..whats it about? An alien ;D Seriously, it's a really good film and you get really attatched to some of the characters (especially Ripley) and it's quite tense too, although not too scary...

Definetly. It was Ripley that kept me watching all the sequels. Although Bill Paxtons character Hudson (Aliens) was brilliant.

But John Hurt's death scene is brilliant in Alien. That has to be one of my favourite movie-death-scenes ever!

One of the best. And one of the most memorable. And the fact that Ridley Scott didn't tell the other actors exactly what was going to happen just added to that shock factor and there reactions.
Am I the only one that thinks the newborn Alien is cute?

No, I actually find it cute.
Infact, I actually pity the alien, especially the mother in Aliens because all as it's trying to do is protect it's young and live. For some reason everyone thinks that I'm being completely crazy in thinking this!

I love the Alien Queen. I have this great McFarlanes toys model of her with a cocooned host.
I'm more into Predator too myself. I haven't seen Alien v Predator yet. But I'm hoping to get to see it in a few weeks. I think both creations are awesome. But the original Alien movie just has that special something that makes it stand out above a lot of films in it's genre.

I seen Alien 3 and Alien Ressurection in the cinema. And only seen Alien when they re-released it last year. I was bought the Quadrilogy box set by one of my mates. The directors cuts of all 4 movies are awesome.
