The BBC versions have been out for years, but they only made: The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe, Prince Caspian, The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, and The Silver Chair.
The new versions are being filmed in New Zealand. The first one, The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe, will be out next year Christmas. *sigh* a long time to wait!

i hope they do a good job! i was disappointed with the BBC series - it fell a bit flat. i also know Narnia well enough to say "hang on a minute -it wasn't that, it was this..." (which is how i felt about TTT, actually...) I think it'll be much easier to make into a film than lotr, b/c it is shorter, so you don't have to cut so much out. i'm looking forward to it!

*sighs too* The same way we've waited for LotR. By talking and getting so hyper about it that we're ready to scream by the time they finally released the movie!

yeah....when is it coming out? i've heard narnia before....but from where? The following note is posted on theonelion.net, which is a part of theonering.net. Walden Media has taken on the project of turning C. S. Lewis's beloved children's books the Chronicles of Narnia , into a series of films. They have the support of Disney, who are co-financing and distributing the films. The release date for the first film is December 9, 2005 in the US. Release dates in other Western countries seem to follow on closely within the month of December, as far as we can see at present. The director is Andrew Adamson, most famous to date for his work on the direction and screenplays of Shrek and Shrek 2. The Pevensie children are played by four British child actors. Yeah. I've been following it a bit...I just hope Disney doesn't do anything awful to it...they've made some good movies, but they seem to regularly butcher book adaptations.

Yeah. I've been following it a bit...I just hope Disney doesn't do anything awful to it...they've made some good movies, but they seem to regularly butcher book adaptations. This movie is funded by a company called Walden Media, they are doing everything to get this movie made, that only thing that Disney has in making this movie, is their name, they did that so the movie would maybe (hopefully) get maketed better. But thank God that they are not making the movie, or it would be sooo messed up. I just don't trust Disney sometimes. --LotRChick
