I feel the same as you...when I watched TTT, a LotR fire kindled in me..for the next nine months or so...I learned alot about LotR...but in the past half year...I've started losing interest..basically the only thing that keeps me here is my friends and the RPs...but I've been posting less on the LotR rps...but I've gained alot of friends here....and I want to keep the reputation of being the first deaf member here...

I know the feeling - it's sad, isn't it? I used to have all of my banners and avatars LotR related and even though I'm still a devoted LotR freak I just don't get the same buzz from it. I still love watching the films and reading the books and sometimes when I hear quotes like at the battle before the Gates of Mordor they still send shivers down my spine but it's just not the same. I knew it would happen eventually but it is still very sad...

Oh, thanks everyone, you've given me so much hope. Maybe you're right, I shouldn't be afraid because LOTR is too great a thing to ever really be forgotten.

It's happen to me too, but I have kept poems and draw the characters, so I remember them. I have a friend that always keeps me in check. Other movies and interests have made it to my "top list" but LotR has always been the first!

I think I know what you guys mean. I've always liked LotR a lot but was never obsessed until a couple yrs ago. Now I am not obsessed anymore. I only watch the movies every once in a while and have deleted most of my lotr pics. But I still love LotR and I always will. I think what it really is is that I am sick of watching the movies. I still love the books and just Middle Earth itself. But the fact that other people are losing interest makes it increasingly harder to be a fan at all. Take this forum for example! When I first joined, people posted like crazy! If i left for a couple hrs, all the things I posted on would be posted ona gain by someone else. Now I have to wait until the next day, because less ppl come here. But I have now found a healthy balance between lotr and the rest of my life! I like it just the way it is.

*sighs* such a depressing yet unavoidable thread. I think basically everyone here has cleared up the main points. I'm still all into LOTR, though it's a little less it's definetly still there because I just became a fan a year ago. It's okay if it doesn't remain your number one proiority but as long as you don't forget it and all the great times you had, you know you stll love it. It's just at some point we stop dreaming and look around and we realize it's never really going to happen, you wear out the love at some point. I think fans have this sense of waiting in them, they want to be apart of it and after they have drained every ounce of their love towards it and it still doesn't come, you inevitably move on but cherish the beauty of it all. But please don't leave the forum! You've made so many great friends here. I hate it when members leave forums for no reason at all. Now I'm going to leave because this thread is very much depressing me and making me feel like I'm the only rare LOTR obsessive for some reason. And I was going to devote my summer to LOTR. But with whom? *sighs* So it is true. An end has come to Middle-earth, of story and song.

Yes. And I very much hope that the summer brings more memebers and fresh LOTR fans.
