My site: www.politickles.com/middleearthI have tried, countless times, to create a stylesheet for myself with no luck. It seems the program I work in (Golive) is not very fond of the css code. Anyways, I was wondering, if anyone is willing, if someone could make me one? All I need is for all text to be size 1, Verdana, and black. That goes for links, active links, etc.. Then I want the following image as the set background: politickles.com/middleearth/Images2/bkgrndright.jpgIf someone could just write up the code and give it to me I would be able to do the rest. I would, of course, give credit and a link back if you could do this. Thanks to who ever wants to help!!!

See if this works:
<style type="text/css">
cursor: default; cursor: url('yourdomain.com/cursor.ani');}
h1 {font-family: Trebuchet MS, comic sans; color: value; #6478A0; }
A:link { text-decoration: underline; color:#00000; } A:visited { text-decoration: underline; color:#000000; } A:active { text-decoration: line-through; color:#000000; } A:hover { text-decoration: line-through; color:#000000; }
body { background-color: #B06E7C;
font-family: Verdana; color: 000000; font-size: 1;
</style>
I just used a colour for your background as that's all it was.

It works great! Well, the text seems like it's cramming together a bit and the headings of all my pages have dissapeared? Here, check it out: www.politickles.com/middleearthBut it's not that big of a deal for now, I am just very very happy to see the color show up!!! It actuallly looks like I wanted it to!!! THANKS!!!!!

Sorry about that I'm not quite sure why the headers are doing that. It could have something to do with the fact that you already have text syle commands in the HTML.

No problem. It's just a minor thing. I'm pretty sure I can fix it up.

It's not working for me... It's white and the links are default colour.
Try copying and pasting this one instead:
BODY { background-image : url('http://politickles.com/middleearth/Images2/bkgrndright.jpg'); background-repeat : no-repeat; background-attachment : fixed; background-color : #ffffff; font-family : tahoma, verdana, sans-serif; font-size : 8pt; color : #6478A0; } input, textarea, select { background : #ffffff; background-image : url(); font-size : 8pt; font-weight : normal; color: #000000; text-decoration : none; font-family : tahoma, verdana, sans-serif; text-align : left; border-width : 1px; border-style : solid; border-color : #000000; } ul { font-family : tahoma, verdana, sans-serif; font-size : 8pt; color : #6478A0; text-align : left; } h3 { font-family : tahoma, verdana, sans-serif; font-size : 20px; font-weight: normal; letter-spacing : 1px; color : #6478A0; text-align : center; } h2 { font-family : tahoma, verdana, sans-serif; font-size : 14px; font-weight: normal; letter-spacing : 1px; color : #000000; text-align : left; } A:link { color : #000000; text-decoration : none; font-weight : bold; font-family : tahoma, verdana, sans-serif; font-size : 8pt; cursor : default; } A:visited { color : #000000; text-decoration : none; font-weight : bold; font-family : tahoma, verdana, sans-serif; font-size : 8pt; cursor : default; } A:active { color : #000000; text-decoration : none; font-weight : bold; font-family : tahoma, verdana, sans-serif; font-size : 8pt; cursor : default; } A:hover { color : #000000; text-decoration: underline; font-weight : bold; font-family : tahoma, verdana, sans-serif; font-size : 8pt; cursor : se-resize; }

Yay! It's working;D
I think you should change the font colour to black or something darker maybe though, as it's not very easy to read now;)

The text is showing up fine for me but the background color is gone. For me, I just see white.

As I told you a while ago, you can't use GoLive to write CSS, you MUST use a plain text editor, such as NotePad or WordPad. GoLive converts the file into HTML code, so it won't work properly on all computers, that's why the stylesheet I gave you didn't work, as you pasted it in a generator. The code should work and is valid, it works on my sites, so it should for you too.

Actually it wasn't madein golive. I hosted it at geocities. Also, I switched back to Elanor's code cause a lot of my visitors said yours didn't work. Does it work for you??? I'm having some problems with the text now. It's a little smooshed together....

You can change the font spaceing by putting "letter-spacing: value;" in between colour and font size. I'm not sure what the value would be to make it better - just experient with different numbers
