I'm sure you'll love! I know I do lol, I think it's even better than LotR if that's possible. The first bit's a bit weird but it gets better as it goes on.

yay! Good for you;D I've lent my copy out to a friend...it was a good deed, but I miss it. She thinks that it's my "Elvish Bible" because it looks like my regular Bible, all marked up with highlights and underlines and notes in the margin..hehe. But I like it that way - it makes me feel at home in my Silmarillion Some people think it's hard to get into because the language is sort of old, but I for one loooove it!!

Yes, I've read the first part about the begining of Middle-Earth so far..........I think I'm on either chapter 3 or 2 now, haven't had any time to read it due to the holidays but I will be reading, when the holidays are over or during Christmas Eve and Christmas .

i'm gonna buy the book, i think, but on a website i could read the first nine pages. But i didn't think that was exciting and i thought it was kind of boring. Now, my question to you, is the rest of the book great? And if it is, please tell me a bit about it. Thanks!!! ;D

I love the Sil more than LotR. You should definately buy it. The beginning is kind of weird, I know, but that actually isn't even part of "The Silmarillion". The first two parts of the book are two other stories that set you up for what happens in the Sil. And then at the end you get to more stories of what happens after (Sauron, the rings etc.). The actual Silmarillion is basicly about the battles that men, elves, dwarves, balrogs, dragons etc. had on middle-earth a long time before LotR. It's really interesting and there's some things like The Tale of Beren and Luthien that every LotR fan needs to read. A lot of things that Tolkien makes reference to in LotR is cleared up in the sil. I definately suggest you read it. I loved it, and I don't think I'm the only one
