Well she didn't go because of Aragorn and immortality s actually not a gift, more a doom. Death is the gift to men. They are allowed out of the circles of the world while the elves are bound to the Arda till its end. They have to see all of the pain and suffering. In the beginning the elves envyed the men for this gift but in time the men envyed the elves immortality because they wanted more time. And even when elves die of grief or in battle, they only linger in the Halls of Mandos for a time and then they are returned to Valinor in the same body and when they are full grown again they remember all that occured in their previous life. The fate of men is strange to them, death is forigen. Okay, I'll be honest I wouldn't mind a little immortality. But not in this world. In Middle-earth! Sorry I just had to ramble on.

Arwen didn't HAVE to give up her immortality, mind. She could have married Aragorn, had children, and then left for Valinor.
However, if she did that, she would never be together again with Aragorn. By giving up her immortality there was that chance that they would see each other in death.

I know. But that is why it's not right for elves in men to marry.

They would have been a nice support to this messed up world. Some to lean on. And this world wouldn't have gotten so crazy.

The story... It is so sad and pretty, makes me wish that elves didn't leave nor their places left to the waters of time.
This story, makes you sigh and smile as you read about Middle Earth's favorite couple who loved each other so and had to give up something dear to be with that other foreva/
This story, Is pretty.

The tale of Arwen and Aragorn is really very beautiful. As it has previously been said, Tolkien has written it so well that it nearly moves you to tears.

I'm with you! Sometimes I feel people just don't us their heads or are too wrapped up their emotions to realize what they are doing.
