They killed Haldir! They throw Aragorn off a cliff! And Faramir appeared quite um what's the world I'm looking for?... MENTAL! But otherwise it was pretty good.

Haldir was barely a bump in Fellowship. Aragorn fell off a cliff to show how Arwen effects Aragorn. Okay, so I can't explain that, but I still like that scene. Faramir, if you've seen the EE, does what he does because he wants his father's love. Hmm, that sounds A LOT like book Faramir to me. Besides, book Faramir was kind of ridiculous. I adore Tolkien, but seriously! What is so special about him that he can resist the ring so well?

Galadriel was wise and loving.
Sam was... er, loving.
Frodo was wise and probably loving.
Bilbo was very wise and very loving.
Etc.

In truth they were all wise and loving but it depends on how strongly and effectively you show it.

Well yes PJ made some changes like these and I was kind of surprised when I read about Theoden's decision in the book...

And also, it's more a mind and spirit strengh thing, like how much you have been through, how well you understand. That's why I said that.

I guess you're right, Arien, but after all I'm a movie fan, so I can't say that I don't like something in the films...

Ilike the books and movies depending upon what part. there's a reason why Aragorn was thrown off that cliff... I forgot...

I didn't mind the changes too much. In fact, I didn't really notice them. I think that PJ changed the characters a little bit so that it would make the movies more interesting. I think that the changes (even though they were small!!) helped show the viewers how their characters had developed from the beginning of the story better than it had in the books. Exactly. In 2nd movie, I didnt mind the changes much at all, except maybe the Farimir one. but the Farimir one worked for the better, for as they say in the appendices, they needed to have the character go on a journey.
