I reckon it's because crows are known to feed off dead bodies after a battle, and to the others,Gandalf is very much like a crow because Grima sees him as someone who feeds off bad news, gets a kick out of it as you will.I think the Storm bit is because his bad news hits them like a storm,or you could describe a battle as a storm so I think they refer to him like to that of a carrion bird, someone who delights in other people's bad emotions... That's what I think anyway...

Yes, you will notice that basically every important character has mulitple names, much like we have multiple nicknames that we are called by different people, depending upon your history with them. Also, in the Bible, God and Jesus, as well as Satan have many many names, used in different circumstances and by different people.

I think it is because crows are sometimes thought to come before something bad happens, such as war or death. The storm part signifies the fact that he is coming before the storm. Grima takes it as him bringing it to Rohan.

well, crows are carrion birds - where there is death, you'll usually find crows - so the storm part meaning that something bad is going to happen soon that involves death: crow - Stormcrow!! lol I actually like that name...Stormcrow... hmm xTx
