Does anyone else believe that LOTR was true? or at least stemmed out of some trueness? Al my friends think I'm insane, but I have loads of reasons for evidence... I haven't got time to go through them all now (My mum wants a go on the computer in a sec!) But they found 'Hobbit' skelatons!! news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/sci/tech/3948165.stmMore proof that it was true!!

I know!! I was eating my tea when i that was on tv and i just heard the word 'hobbit' and i looked up and it said they had found a skeleton of a man 3 ft tall!!! I can't believe it. Perhaps there is some truth in LotR, at least some of it anyway...

It was probably just a pygme (or however you spell that) skeleton. Or maybe a midget. There are some people that just happen to end up being SHORT their entire lives.

But hair dissinegrates. There's no way an ancient skeleton could have hair.

I just saw it in tv! And they called it a hobbit! ;D The pygme thing. They said that it looked like a pygme, but that it had differences. I think it's so cool!

I just saw that in MSN.com's video section. They it's exactly a half-sized human being and that's why they have been calling it a Hobbit (Halfling).
It is very interesting, but could have been better if they had found it in northern Europe, that could have shocked me totally, sice Tolkien supposedly was depicting a very ancient Europe in his stories.

it's cool! there actually were hobbits! (so where are the dwarves, the elves, the orcs?) i heard that they are not like humans or primates and technically should be their own species. i wonder what they'll officially be called.

it's cool! there actually were hobbits! (so where are the dwarves, the elves, the orcs?) Well the Elves pretty much all left over the sea didn't they... Not sure what happened to the dwarves and orcs though! maybe archeologists have found dwarf skelatons, but just thought they were small people, and didn't think any more of it? and maybe the same with the orcs... their skelatons must look pretty human too...

It was a deformed pygme. Synariel/Orelinde a whole race of deformed pygmes? probably not.... maybe they really did find hobbits ;D ;D ;D...if not it might be another species of humans that looked a lot like hobbits.

Don't you think that if there really had been race of halflings some one would have records of some form of the fact somewhere, and that those records would have been found before the skeletons ever were? Surely someone could'nt have hidden an entire race from the world.
Synariel/Orelinde I wouldn't doubt though, that there was maybe some other human nationality, who was for some reason wiped out. It's not like that hasn't happened before. But I don't think that there really were any ACTUAL hobbits.
