my friend had a sword made for her. it's not all that good (a touch too heavy), not balanced, made by a person who had never made a sword in his life... but it's a sword, and that's more than what i have! i'd love to own a sword - just one sword, any sword, but i'm not allowed. also there a lot more rules about sword ownership where i live apparently (or so says my sword-obsessed friend who is trying to find a loop-hole in them.) and while customs may let a dagger slip through as a "letter opener", i think my chances of getting a sword through are pretty low. just letting all you people who own swords out there know that i'm really envious!

I'm truly sorry to hear that Herenya. Where is it you live? In the U.K a politician is trying to pass a new legislation banning the selling of daggers, swords and various replica knives. A few stupid people trying to spoil it for the majority of responsible, mature sword collectors like myself. These items are not toys and should never be used as such. Most of the LotRs swords are blunt and unuseable. With only 4 of them sharpened, even with that they are nowhere near as sharp as say a Katana. I really hope that there is a change in your law soon Herenya. It's such a shame to see people miss out on something they would love to do.

banning daggers & swords? thats absurd!!! ok i NEVER say this, but i am actually glad I live in California right now, the only things that are banned are switchblades, butterfly knives, stilettos (basically anything automatic, and i still own all 3 ) and brass knuckes are banned- AND THATS IT! you can buy , sell, and own as many knives and swords as you want! we get catalogs every month and drool over what we should buy next! I just think that what they are trying to do w/ this banning is silly!

Again we wholeheartedly agree Lady Moat. The banning or restriction on the owning and selling of replica swords and daggers is just absurd. Most of the ones you can buy aren't even sharp, they can't do all that much damage. And if you try to sharpen something that's not meant to be sharp. It'll ruin your weapon. A very small minority of irresponsible owners who go out and show off with them or whatever. Are trying to spoli it for the mature, responsible owners who own them merely as art and collectible pieces.

I also like Hadhafang. It so light and strong. I don't have it but I could have bought it brand new and very cheap but my brother wanted Aragorn's sword.

Aundril and Narsil. But my parents won't let me buy them, they say it is a waste of money. They don't understand a thing, it doesn't cost more than 3 thousand.
