i am a hobbit...always have been, always will be...just because i love to eat and i would love to live in a hobbit hole...and also, i don't think i'm "serious" enough to be an elf, i'm definately not a dwarf, and i'm not into the human thing....just a simple, little hobbit!

[glow=purple,2,300] I'd probably be an Elf. I am tall (five feet eleven inches) and slender, and dancing ballet since I was 3 years old... so I have the whole Elf look (except for the pointy ears).
QUESTION: Are wizzards a seperate race or are they just people (Humans) who have mastered magical arts? [/glow]

i really don't think that wizards are humans at all. i could be completely wrong about this, but the istari were sort of sent into middle earth...and plus they live really, really long...much longer than men, so i really think that they are a separate race from humans.

They are not humans, nor are they a seperate race. They are of the maiar, as are Sauron and the Balrog. They're essentially angels/powerful spirits, sent from Valinor to fight against Sauron at the beginning of the 3rd age.

[glow=Purple,2,300]... yes but if the Nazgul were once men who now can't be killed (and live for aeons) AND the Mouth of Sauron used to be a man (could be wrong about this one) but he learned enough of the "dark arts" to extend his life... and for that matter the Gollum creature also has unnaturlaly long life...
Wouldn't it stand to reason that Wizzards could have been humans who just mastered magic which prolonged their lives? [/glow]
EDIT: We posted at about the same time.... thank you for clearing that up!

[/glow] EDIT: We posted at about the same time.... thank you for clearing that up! Read Unfinished tales it tells of the choosing of the Istari and their arrival in Middle-Earth. They are Maiar equall in stature to Sauron. Saruman was a Servant of Aule, Ragadast(sp) was a servant of Yavanna and Gandalf or Olorin was a servant of Manwe and I can't remember who the two blue once belonged to. I'm an elf. Not because of looks but because of mentality. I love the stars and the forest. I have lived the country my whole life and can't stand being seperated from nature. I love music, both singing and playing an instrument. I study lore and history. And I love the sea.

^ Ents are awesome!! ;D As for myself, I think I'm half-Elven. I do have many Elven characteristics, I love music and to dance, I'm passionate about the enviorment, esp. trees, I'm taking Elvish courses in Quenya, taught myself the Tengwar. I'd probably have to be a descendant of Elrond, kin to Arwen - I've been told I look similar to Liv Tyler, and I resemble the Rivendell Elves, being dark-haired. But I find myself identifying with humans many times, esp. Eowyn. I have trouble deciding which one: Rohan and Minas Tirith against Rivendell or Lothlorien. So, I suppose I would be in the "Half-Elven" catagory. Too bad there's no vote for that. But I'm content.

[/glow] No they couldn't, because the powers the Istari wield are both a native part of their being, and also a mark of authority of the Powers. For a human to simply try and take such power is intrinsically wrong in Tolkien's world, and would result in a creature like the Witch-King, long-enduring, but neither living nor dead, and always in torment.

But what race do you consider you self, other then you feel like that's what you should be.
And I know some of you have already done that.
Example: I'm 6'2, I have dark hair, my eyes aren't gray though, their more yellow-green. I'm extremely athletic. Believe it or not, my ears have slight points.
I would say that I’m a [glow=blue,2,300]Númenorean[/glow] or a Noldor Elf.
