I don't hate Frodo. He was pretty good. But I do like several others better than him.(What I don't like is every one overrating Sam ![:P](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/tongue.png) ) I like Frodo pretty well-but I DO NOT like Elijah! ![:P](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/tongue.png) But I don't like hobbits very well anyway ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png)

I know, I'm always having to defend poor Frodo. All my friends think he is so ugly! I still luv him though.

I don't hate him, but he is not one of my favorite characters. He is very mean to Sam so yeah. And nice to Smeagol/Gollum while being mean to Sam. He also destroies Sam's hope n the book. I understand why he does this, but yeah...

I don't hate Frodo I love him. The thing with him being mean to Sam and liking Gollum/Smeagol was all because of the ring I think. Besides all that he's a hobbit was more could you want? ;D

Huge round of applause to Synariel. You said everything I was going to say, though much better than I could have summed it up. Let's not get big-headed. Face it. None of us could have carried the Ring through Mordor without having our strength, hope, and essentially, our souls sapped. In our own egotism and self-importance we judge Frodo's hardships as weaknesses. I know I would NEVER have gotten the Ring as far as the Black Gate. Think about what Frodo was going through, people! Put yourselves in his position before you try to come up with pathetic and narrow-minded reasons to hate him. Stepping off my soapbox. And yes, Sam does deserve a great deal of credit. ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) ~ Galadriel

Everyone here seems to be forgetting he is a hobbit. What is not to like about hobbits?! They are cute and just plain adorable. They eat looks of food (which should make them grow lol), and they walk around barefoot. Everyone should already like Frodo for he is a hobbit not to even begin metioning all of the other stuff he did.

I was just about to post a long winded ramble about Frodo, but someone already beat me to it. Synariel, you took the words out of my mouth. Frodo has always been my favourite and I think he sets a good example for people. I wish I had half of his qualities. Yes, even his alleged "whimpyness". I don't think he's a whimp, he's got an instinct for self-preservation. Outnumbered against an enemy twice your size (or five times your size), all the odds are stacked against you... Heck, I'd be scared nutsless! Few men - and even fewer Hobbits - are brave by nature, only good discipline and experience can make them so. Frodo has zero experience, so I wouldn't judge him so harshly.

I personally like Frodo but others might hate him because he is too quiet for them or they just don't like that type of perosnality. Some people are so judgemental.
