I really hope pj will make it. It would be cool if sam is reading the red book to his children, and that he is narrator, something like that.....

I think they should stick to the book and just make it form Bilbo's point of view.

I meant the beginning of the movie, and further on just bilbo's point of view....

I agree with Arien Elensar. If anyone is going to narrate the movie (if it goes ahead), it should be Bilbo/Ian Holm. If he's not available for whatever reason. Then it has to be Ian McKellen. He most definetly be reprising the role of Gandalf.

Yeah, I meant that if they don't show Bilbo doing that in the book they shouldn't put it into the movie.

Yes, and I meant in the context of there being narration at all, hypothetically speaking. At this stage we don't know if the movie is going to actually be made. So everything is just assumptions on how Peter will make it (if he is the one chosen to Direct it).

Very good point Raivynn. And yeah since there is no narraration iin the book there shouldn't be any in the movie.

To narrate or not to narrate that is the question! Personally I think Bibo should tell it since it is his story, kinda like he did in FOTR

He didn't do that in FOTR.

He may want to use some sort of narration to distinguish it from LotRs. Rather than making The Hobbit a carbon copy of the trilogy. Or he could go with a prologue of sorts, like he did with Fellowship.
Only PJ knows what he has up his sleeve. And you know he won't let on until he wants to.
