I think it would be great if they just did 1 or 2 stories (*ahem* Beren and Luthien) because if they did them all it would just be toooo confusing, and what if some people who hadn't read the book went to see it?? they'd probably leave in the first few minutes just my humble opinion

The silmarillion as much as we would love to see a movie based on it would be almost impossible to make. The Lord of the Rings (most of it anyways) took place in about a 2 year time span, the Silmarillion (the part about the war of the Jewels anyways) took place over an entire age.
Also, there would be so many characters who would be nearly impossible to caste, Melian and Luthien for example, Luthien is described as being more fair then mortal tongue can tell. No one could ever do her justice. Melian is Luthien's mother and is an angel.
i have met people who were confused by Lord of the Rings cause they missed things having never read the books, I could see the Silmarillion being a movie that people walk out of saying, what on earth just happened.
I would love to see it done but I don't think it will ever happen.

I say no. It's too much information to put into one movie, or even into seperate films. And people would get confused by the different stories. And it might attract "false fans" or whatever you want to call them. People who haven't even read the books suddenly would think they know everything about Middle-earth!

I think that The Silmarillion should be a movie... but I've already talked about this in other topics, so this is all I've got to say...

I also think it should be a movie, or a show. I've said stuff before too.

Amen! Liv Tyler isn't my book Arwen, by any means. No actress could ever be my book Lùthien. *clutches her Silmarillion* Besides, how can you make the most beautiful child in the world?

Well, to make the movie you have to have something. Use computers or something. Make her stand out. No luthien. No movie.

Silmarillion movie? No way! It's totally impossible. There's no one who could ever do that. Think that Tolkien would be turning in his grave if there would be even a talk about it. And I don't really WANT it to be made. Simple.
