I don't typically cry at movies. If I do cry, it is a high compliment for that movie. And with this movie, I BAWLED!
I cried when:
-Denethor told Faramir he wished that he had died and Boromir had lived -When Sam is framed by Gollum for eating the lembas and he breaks down when Frodo tells him to "go home" -"Don't go where I can't follow. " -"I can't carry it for you, but I can carry you!" -"I'm glad to be with you, Samwise Gamgee, here at the end of all things."
I thought I was crying hard during these parts. But I was proved wrong during the last scene, at the Grey Havens. I lost control when Frodo was hugging all of his dear friends. Excuse me, I'm going to go cry now... ;D

I think the question is--what scenes didn't make me cry? Everything in the film was bittersweet because I knew it was the end... But, I cried the most that I had cried in all three movies during the final scenes at the Grey Havens. Everyone says goodbye, and it is like you as the viewer gets the chance to say goodbye, too.

I cried when pippin sang, and then all through the end and about three days after the movie was over... it was so sad.... when frodo left it felt like a part of ME was missing. i never thought i would have been so sad but it was and everyone in my family makes fun of me for crying....

It is really not my thing to cry during movies ('cept for The Passion of the Christ" ) But I did cry at Theoden's speech and Aragorn's as well.

I don't cry in movies but the thing that would have gotten me to cry was at the end when Frodo was saying that in your heart you will start to understand that there is no going back. That was sooo sweet!

I don't cry by movies, but this time I cried by the song of into the west. I heard: Lay down, your sweet and weary head, night is falling, you have to come to journey's end. And my grandmother is very ill. She has Alzheimer and ze didn't wake up anymore. When I heard that song, I had to cry. My mother listened to the song at home and she cried too. But I few weeks after that, my grandmother waked up!!! But always if I hear the song now, I cry, because I think of my grandmother.
