Hey Belowen- what does this mean? It looks Spanish, but I can only translate some of the words and the last two look like Latin. j/w Una es mas autentica mientras mas se parece a lo que siempre ha sonado de si misma... CARPE DIEM

Oh--haha you are right; it's Spanish (some of the accents are missing). It is sort of hard to translate exactly, but I will try: "One is most authentic when they look like what they've always dreamed themselves to be." The quote comes from "All About My Mother", a fantastic Spanish film by Pedro Almodovar. "Carpe Diem" is Latin for "seize the day". It has been popular for some time, but I first remember hearing it in "Dead Poet's Society", that Robin Williams film. They are two separate quotes but I love them equally, so I put them together. I enjoy quoting movies in general--that's why I love this club! Hope that helps...

I love The Princess Bride! It's one of my favorite movies!
I'm doing this project for English/History about Will Rogers and I found some pretty cool qoutes that I would like to share with you all. Hope you enjoy them! (Sorry if the last one offends anyone.)
"Everything is funny as long as it happens to someone else." -Will Rogers ^This one is so true.^
"I never met a man I didn't like." -Will Rogers
"He [Will Rogers] said, 'I always wondered why the British drink so much tea. Now I know, because I've tasted their coffee.' " -Rouben Mamoulian

Well, here's a quote for y'all to guess. It's pretty easy, I hope, and in keeping with a movie all of us are anticipating this Christmas. So, where's it from?

Ooh! I know! The Chronicles of Narnia; The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. ;D I think it's Mr. Beaver talking, about Aslan, but I'm not sure.

I guess Chronicles of Narnia too but I wouldn't know cause I haven't read it in a long time! But I am anticipating it coming out. I need to borrow that book from my church's library again!

This is one of my favorites from Buzz Lightyear of Star Command(the movie, not TV show):
Buzz Lightyear: This diabolical plot can only be the work of the sworn enemy of the Galactic Alliance - Evil Emperor Zurg! Warp Darkmatter: What plot?! You think Zurg is behind every kitten stuck up a tree! Buzz Lightyear: The fiend! Why can't he leave kitty-cats out of his nefarious schemes?

Yes, y'all are correct! It's Mr. Bever's response to Susan in The Chronicles of Narnia, The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. Maetharanel, since you guessed first, would you give us another quote to guess? btw, how long do we want a thread to wait before we ask for a clue? Two days? Three? And five or six before we just try another? What's y'all's opinions?
