thank you to the persons who gives these websites I know already know Council of Elrond but the others impressed me with all this information. I'm happy they have deleted these scenes of the Battle of Helm's Deep (sorry for Arwen's fans ) .I think Arwen has already a very bigger role than the book

[glow=purple,2,300] I agree the Helms deep scenes with Arwen needed to be cut... but I Still want to see the deleted scenes that they filmed and didn't use. I think that is one of the best features of DVD... you can see some of the cool stuff they went to the trouble of filming... that just didn't work in the story of the movie.

If you watch the film really closely, I think it's when Gandalf is in the foregriound, you get a glimpse of Arwen in the background, in a red dress. Apparantly they filmed it with her in, but then edited her out, by pasting images of Legolas over her... so there is also a place where you can see two Legolas's, one behind the other! When they are riding out on the horses, towards the end of the battle!

I'm glad they didn't put her in Helm's Deep. They already gave her a bigger role by replacing Glorfindel with her. To see her at Helm's Deep would just be completely shocking.
And it's weird to see her with her hair up...

I haven't seen the the Extended Version of the Two Towers...but I want to. And when I do i'm gonna watch all four discs! I don't know if the deleted scene made it in or not.

Arwen at Helms Deep thankfully didn't make it into Two Towers. They filmed it and pulled it realising themselves it was a hideous mistake. There is some of the filming shown in one of the documentaries and why they chose not to use it at all.

I'm glad that they decided against putting Arwen at Helm's Deep - for one, she never seems to be indicated as being the "warrior princess" in the book that she supposedly is in the movies. Plus, I've seen the footage of some of Liv's swordwork, and to be honest, she didn't really seem to be getting into it all that much. Nothing against Liv - she's a great actress, but she does much better with a more feminine character than with the fighting. Which, of course is completely fine as well. And it just goes to show how much Peter and Fran and Phillippa cared about the fans and how they reacted to it and what they thought, which I think is great.

I only got TTT EE this christmas and I haven't watched everything on it yet. I heard of one mention of Arwen and helm's deep in the documentaries, basically in passing, so I've got to look some more.
But it explains where the picture of Arwen and galadriel comes from. I've been wondering that for AGES because it's in one of the 'official movie picture guides' (or whatever they call them) and I couldn't figure out where it was from.
I'm glad she was cut, she didn't belong. Aragorn didn't fall in love with her because she could fight, he fell in love with her because she was good looking. Well, there was probably more to it than that...

Aragorn didn't fall in love with her because she could fight, he fell in love with her because she was good looking. Umm...I think there was a little bit more to it than she was just good-looking...you can't base a relationship on looks alone. But anyway.

I meant it was more her looks than her fighting ability. Actually, her being an elf probably had a lot to do with it because he'd been brought up by the elves and was decended from the elves. It was something that they had in common (more so than Aragorn and Eowyn)

I saw those pics that you posted. I'm glad they didn't put her in because if she wasn't in the books she don't belong there!

You say Aragorn did fall in love with Arwen because she was beautiful? Aragorn only notices Arwen because of her beauty. if she had just looked like some normal elven maiden he wouldn't have taken any notice of her and they might not have ever got married.

Lady OR: Exactly why they shouldn't show her at the battle.
