ARAGORN: Your duty is with your people.
EOWYN: Too often have I heard of duty. But am I not of the House of Eorl, a shieldmaiden and not a dry-nurse? I have waited on faltering feet long enough. Since they falter no longer, it seems, may I not now spend my life as I will?

Chapter VI: The Battle of the Pelennor Fields (The Return of the King, Book Five)
WITCH KING: Hinder me? Thou fool. No living man may hinder me!
DERNHELM: But no living man am I! You look upon a woman. Eowyn I am, Eomund's daughter. You stand between me and my lord and kin. Begone, if you be not deathless! For living or dark undead, I will smite you, if you touch him.

She actually says 'smite' !??! That is indeed a very underused word that I will take pride in using more from now on!

"Legolas Greenleaf, long under tree in joy thou hast lived. Beware of the sea! If thou hearest the cry of the gull on the shore thy heart shall then rest in the forest no more."
More of a poem than a quote but I love it!

"I'll get there, if I leave everything but my bones behind, and I'll carry Mr. Frodo up myself, if it breaks my back and heart. So stop arguing!"
"Come on, Mr. Frodo! I can't carry it for you, but I can carry you and it as well. So up you get! Come on, Mr. Frodo, dear! Sam will give you a ride. Just tell him where to go and he'll go."
"Thank you, Sam, how far is there to go?" -"I don't know, because I don't know where we're going."
"...For the quest is acheived, and now all is over. I am glad you are here with me. Here at the end of all things, Sam."
