Actually at the end of the return of the king Legolas smiled at Frodo.Legolas never ackknowledged Frodo before because elves are naturally quite as an example look at Haldir. He didn't even trust them but he had a good reason not to.

I think Frodo did mouth 'Legolas' in Ithilien, right after he woke up, you just couldn't hear him. And I don't think Legolas did say anything to Frodo exept "You have my bow".

I never noticed that either, It's pretty weird. I agree with what a few of you are saying, they had no need to talk. That's pretty weird.

But hey, at least Legolas smiled at Frodo in the third movie. That should count for something.

>_< the FIRST thing I noticed about Legolas is the fact that he is bad at communicating and showing his feelings. It really drives me nuts....I just can't stand the fact that he lacks any brains enough to say something to Frodo.....oh well.....maybe he has some kind of elven disease that gave him a brain difficiency....or maybe he's just tired of living for a couple of thousands of years, eh? All I know is that he really, really ,really should learn to show more and say more in the film....... I wonder why Peter Jackson chose him for Legolas?...he should have just been an extra or something. Well, that's my opinion. i completely agree and yes... i dont think he said anything to frodo except for "You have my bow" and frodo did mouth legolas at the end...i never noticed... and gimli doesn't really talk to frodo either...

Maybe Legolas and Gimli are both anti-Frodo.....

^lol! ;D No, I don't think they are. But it is kinda weird that there doesn't seem to be any interaction between Frodo and Legolas. And Frodo and Gimli as well. Besides "And my axe!"

Like so many, I never noticed I. I don't really pay much attention to Lego....
Gimli talked to Frodo in the books. In FotR when they came out of the Mines of Moria he showed him Mirrormere.

Gimli says to Frodo 'Stay close young hobbit! they say a elf sorcerer lives in these woods!' and 2 more sentances pertaining to that subject when they first get into the Golden Wood.
