Ok in the scene where frodo gets stung by that big spider Shelob (shudders, i hate spiders) and frodo gets all wrapped up like a little mummy hobbit, sam comes along with sting and the light of the starthing, he says "let him go you filth" he sounds really really amercian to me, and then the next line, he switches back to his english/irish accent
it really bugs me, did anyone else pick that up?? (your all going to go back and watch that scene now arent you)

I have that scene embedded in my head and it's not really american. I mean when was the last time you heard someone with a real english accent say that? lol.

I've found a kindred!!!! yay
I watched ROTK again to day, ((waaay too much spare time)) and quite a few of the american actors let their accent slip a little in places, its not as pronounced as sam's line though
not that i'm complaining, they all did a really great job

I noticed that he sounded different at that line, also. In The Fellowship of the Ring, I thought that Viggo Mortensen also sounded a bit American when he first came in. I suppose it's tough to always remember to use a British accent.

I wouldn't bother about that, eru! I don't think it would have sounded really great if it was reeaaaly much english accent in that line!

It's extremely hard to fake an english accent when you're trying to make your voice low and menacing. But if you listen carefully, a bit of the Irish inflection is still there. ;D

i dont really think he sounds irish but mabe its just because im from ireland and didnt noticebecause im used to hearing i think he has more of a ambrosire (u probably dont know what im mean but i dont know where the area is it might be brstol) it but any way back on subject he does let his accent slip in some parts of the movie but it is excusable i am hopeless at doing most accents but any way and i think viggo sounds a bit american when ever he says "i will not let the white city fall" at the end of rotk
