I have to say, I sorta enjoyed the Ralph Baakshi version. To a point. His visualisation of the Nazgul was pretty good. And the way he blended animation with live action was bizarre. And a very bold move to do something like that. Sure there are things I didn't like. Boromir for instance looked more like a barbarian crossed with a Viking. Not at all how I pictured him. But then I suppose like most things, it's all a matter of opinion and taste.
As for the animated version of The Hobbit. I didn't even know it existed until a few days ago. I'm somewhat torn between not wanting to see it on the horrible reactions it has recieved. Or to get it out of sheer morbid curiosity. I doubt I'll ever have the courage to buy a copy.

Yeah...that movie was kinda weird if you ask me....I have never seen the Hobbit, but I have read the books. When I saw the animated version of LotR, I thought, 'Man this is weird.' and it was. My older sister agreed with me...but I just don't think that the Nazigul would be limping that much.....

I love Gollum's voice in the LotR cartoon. It was too manly and deep, but it was hilarious!!

My mom watched it. I started at RotK, because I didn't have my DVD yet, so I was hoping for relief.... But after seeing Pippin, I shut it off and kind of prayed they didn't mess up Faramir that much...but my mom watched all the stuff she borrowed of it. I hope she liked Boromir. (My mom's a boromir freak).

I turned the Hobbit off as soon as we got to the Mirkwood Elves....blech blech blech and blooey!!!!!!! Tell me that isn't Leggy's dad...PLEASE!!!!!!!! Oh, and in LOTR, Aragorn's wearing a skirt...he also looks Native American. Gimli's wearing a sack for a hat. Arwen doesn't exist. ELrond is BO-RING. Galadriel can't even pronounce her own husband's name right. And yes, the fabled Boromir looks like a Viking. That's not all my complaints about that movie, but that's ok. As for ROTK, we won't even go there...

[glow=green,2,300]I've seen The LOTR, ROTK and The Hobbit cartoon version. I get a kick out of them every time! Ha ha! The Hobbits in LOTR are a wee bit over grown don't you think? In ROTK Pippin's neck looked like an Giraffe. Ha ha! The Hobbit was good besides the fact that the animations froze every once in a while. I think they are great to watch if you are in a mood to laugh! Pippin[/glow]

The cartoons are terrible! Only I laughed myself do death when I saw the Nazgûls and Gollum... ;D Me too! I hated to way the orcs looked and Boromir's non existent pants. I really hated it! And I never knew there was a Silmarillion cartoon out there...is it by the same guy who did the LOTR cartoons?
