I agree. The theme they wanted to get across of the hardship of Arwen and Aragorn was very needed. Though I'm glad they didn't have her in the battle of Helm's Deep or which ever it was they were going to put her in.

They would've put her in Helm's Deep. I've seen pictures. ;D Very cool. And I still want to see her at Helm's deep just as a deleted scene because Legolas truly wasn't supposed to pull Aragorn and Gimli up by himself. Arwen helped. They just painted over her. I admit that it would have totally messed everything up but I would LOVE to see it anyways. The only reason they did not put in Glorfindel and had so many Arwen scenes is this: Glorfindel appears only for that scene. Why introduce a character then you never see them again. That would be very confusing. Where as they are putting in more Arwen because the theme of Aragorn and Arwen/ Luthien and Beren was about Tolkien and his wife and they wanted to give that more credit. Watch the extras on the extended DVD's. It'll enrich your life. Some people hate movie Arwen because they hate Liv Tyler. So think about that before you start bashing movie Arwen.

I would like to seee it it too. Though I'm glad they didn't put her in. And I knew about the Arwen-Glorfindel conflict. I wish we could see him but I can see why they didn't put him in.

I like the arwen scene. okay, first of all, if this elf just pops out of nowhere and marries aragorn, everyone is going to wonder what the heck happened. second of all, in the book, glorfindel has that one part, and then he jsut...dissappears....so they should have replaced them with someone who would actually tie in more in the story. i also think liv tyler did great in the arwen's part. i don't know why so many people thought she was a bad choice. she OBVIOUSLY did well enough to get the role, didn't she?

She did do a great job and I understand the whole part why Glorfindel wasn't used. But I still wish I could have seen it as a deleted scene.

Well, technically he had two, one at the Ford and one at the counsil of Elrond, but I do see what you all are getting at and have to agree. It would have been pointless to bring in Glorfindel, as sad as that sounds and I thought it was pretty cool how they put Arwen in there....But I'm glad she wasn't at Helm's Deep, that would have been too much, seeing how the elves weren't even suppose to be there

As much as I want to say that Glorfindel should have been in the movie, I understand that it wouldn't have made any sense. I can see how Arwen is in that scene more than I understand all of those stupid two minute clips that she has. And her seeing her son? Give me a break. I'm sorry to those of you that are huge Arwen fans, but those really irritated me.
Her at Helm's Deep would have been such a joke. First of all...she's just not supposed to be there; the elves aren't even supposed to be there. And second of all it would have made Eowyn's role in the next film less important.

I thought that they kinda already made Arwen into a warrior at flight to the ford though..

yeah, arwen shouldn't have been there....it was enough, i think, putting arwen in the flight to the ford scene....but helms deep, thats just TOO much. they should have had someone else helping legolas there though, i thought that was kind of weird that he was abled to pull a dwarf and a man up a wall all by himself.
by the way, i think they put the elves in helms deep to make it seem more realistic that they could win...they shouldn't have, though. they especially shouldn't have killed haldir!

As much as I want Glorfindel to be there I can see why it's better if Arwen is. But I'm glad they didn't put her in Helm' Deep because that would have been over doing it. I don't think they should have put the elves there at all. Did they elves really do anything to help the men?

overdoing it?
They were really desparate when they came up with that idea, I like what they used a lot better with the Teleophy.
