Please watch the TTT EE spacial materials there's more about why are the elves coming in Helm's Deep and about Haldir's death... well... it has to be someone dying... and about Aragorn's 'river' adventure and the warg battle - the film has to be intersting hasn't it?? But wasn't the book...well...interesting?

Yes, it was, but so much had to be cut out of the movie that alot was missed. To make it interesting they add in a scene that explains a few things, and adds a bit of motivation (if that makes any sense, and I'm not sure it does ) Anyways, they cant have everything happening predictably. I s'pose having the trip from Rohan to Helms Deep go perfectly was boring...

I don't get it. Why is Faramir such a jerk in this movie . In the book he gave them cheese and sent them on thier way. This is a disaster. Terrible!! >:(There I have spoken my bit!!

because they needed coflict so the ring didn't get to be powerless I know they destoyed Tolkien's vision of Faramir, but if they hadn't they could never pull the story off to people who haven't read the books, and can't understand that Faramir has an iron will
